Hard to tell what's going on with that but I'm pretty happy that it's not another origin story reboot and apparently wants to bring in arguably almost too many characters. Could be ramped up in the teaser and less prevalent in the full film but I saw, like... a lot of recognized faces from the Justice League series. Seems like James Gunn wants to catapult the DC films into early Marvel territory on his own

I'm pleased by the tone of things. Superman goes from shallow breathing, very much in trouble.... to being pulled away by f***ing Krypto? This could be virtually anything. Also, I thought I hated it but I've come around and now love that he's wearing the old school Superman look with the weird red short shorts.

I don't know man been through a lot of new supermans in my life and overall have always felt the DC universe is shitastic. Was in a big meeting of my peers and shooting the shit with one of them who is a like long hard core superman fan and always wears something that is superman related. Anyways he's heard that Man of Steel was considered 'too dark' but at least in the trailer it doesn't seem they have gone more 'lighthearted and fun'. Also think that both DC/Marvel restrict themselves to cannon a bit too much. The endless rebooting of the same primary villains is super old. TBH just creating something original mixed with enough cannon to keep it grounded.

Going to be hard to top the main track of the Man of Steel soundtrack as it is still one of my favs of all time but if they can that will be amazing.

I was just having this conversation with my daughter and wife. This is I think like the 7th or 8th Superman In my life counting tv…I wonder how many Lois’ there have been ….

I loved Man of Steel, but I too am a sucker for Superman.

Rachel Brosnahan (Mrs. Miasel) as Lois should kill it. Zero idea who the new Superman actor is besides what I’ve read…

As always with DC, just have to hope it’s not a shitshow.

I think the new actor does fit the superman look. Interestingly he is 6'4 like Reeves was. Cavill is 6'1 which I found surprising thought he was taller. I do remember a while back someone put together male actor height lineup from shortest to tallest was interesting. Basically, everyone around 5'11 and taller height fit my visual impression in the film or shot that they did have good height.

Big fan of Brosnahan all the way back to House of Cards.

Bolded I would hope so. I personally not a big fan of DC as I stated earlier but they have a ton of fans and just have not been able to the magic that the Marvel was able to tie together so well. Will be a great test to see if Gunn can figure it out.

Patiently waiting for xmen to show up on the Marvel side.

Will confess major fatigue over 'Superman reboot' (and DC[E]U first boot) attempts for the last 20 years. But James Gunn is probably a good choice to helm this attempt.

Amazon had been suggesting that I watch Battlestar Galactica (the 2000s series) for awhile now. I'd never seen any Battlestar Galactica that I can recall, maybe reruns of the original late 70s version. Decided to give the 3 hour lead-in miniseries from 2002 a shot, and it was holy-shit-good, one of the best pieces of TV I've seen in years. Absolutely incredible performance by Edward James Olmos. Been watching the series since, I'm still in season 1. It's not quite as good mostly in my mind due to the limits imposed by hour-long time blocks but also some storyline fatigue (they can only have the same plot for so long before it gets old). But still pretty solid.

Omg watch it….so damn good. Goes a little off the rails towards the end, but I’ve watched it twice. EJO is the man as Adama….

Loved it! So many good episodes. Episode with 33 minute countdown was anxiety inducing. And the scene where they jump from REDACTED to REDACTED to save everyone. Awesome!

Ahh man truly some great in that sci-fi series. Adama transmitting in the clear that he is taking command of fleet after all the colonies have been nuked and their forces clearly routed.

Still love 33 the episode after the mini-series. 4th season gets some weird and the finale a bit contreversal but all things considered still a great series overall.

This decision still haunting in S1:

One of the things that really got me was Adama's So Say We All speech at the end. Apparently he improvised it. Just .. god damn powerful, as CCR said EJO was so so good.

Such a great scene….

My Old Ass - 6/10 ... was hoping for more of a "Being John Malkovich" experience and got a standard female coming of age movie wrapped in teenage lesbian angst

Oh lighten up, it was a cute family movie! You obviously were not high enough!
Nah that movie sucked. Carry On was better but also sucked.

Both of these "projects" began in a board room of executives looking to market a Christmas movie.

It is AI script written formulaic bullshit.

You know in Elf, Buddy's dad is a bad corporate exec and he sends out the book about a dog that was printed missing the last page ... thats the type of people that are making these 2 just in time for the holidays right to streaming moves.

Dont encourage them .. they'll think we want more of this corporate packaging

^^ Those movies came from the same boardroom that this and other lowest f***ing common denominator bullshit they fling at us came from

Sorry .. merry christmas and stuff

I need to go watch like a double feature of black and white Swedish indie film girl coming of age while living on a remote a farm type movies to remind myself what true cinema is and what it is for. For torture. Not entertainment. But to make you feel bad about yourself and generally depressed.

I’ve learned to appreciate a movie for what it is, and for what it (the Director) was trying to do. If you’re a big fan of The Rock, and or Chris Evans……and millions upon millions are….you probably got some enjoyment out of it, like me. It was completely farcical (like most Christmas movies are), but it was lighthearted corny fun.

Btw….if I had to say one sucked, it would be Red One over Carry On. By a thin margin.

Your boardroom AI conspiracies aren’t as funny as your regular schtick. ;)
