Not even Jim Benning could **** that one up.
He's no Sergachev but I hope he plays in the NHL this year
He will
No, no he won't.
At least I hope not for the sake of his development.
As a huge London Knights fan, Juolevi is a little overrated already.
Will carve out a long career though as a 2/3 defender.
You say that like a long career as a solid #2/3 NHL defenceman wouldn't be a very solid outcome.
Sergachev vs. Juolevi will be the next Karlsson vs. Doughty
same thing was said about Ekblad
Benning himself said that he thought the top 5 players of the 2016 draft were forwards (weeks before the draft), then he picked Juolevi at #5, pre draft talk is all smoke.
Pardon? I literally live 10 minutes outside of London. Catch 10-15 games a year.
Seems like you have a solid basis for an opinion on a young prospect and how he will turn out.
His analysis seems pretty spot on... 2-3 d-man is likely what Juolevi turns into. I don't know why so many are outraged? Certainly a hell of a lot more accurate than the Drew Doughty comparison... lol.
Calling any drafted player(especially a 1st rounder) a bust before they even see the ice is incredibly shallow and juvenal.canucks couldve got Matthew Tkachuk overall i think Olli Juolevi is a bust

That said, It seems Benning broke the golden rule of drafting, picking need over best player available.
Not really, Barkov was considered the 3rd best player and 2nd best forward, Juolevi wasn't on anyone's top 5 list and a lot of scouts had him behind Sergachev for defenseman.Like Florida seemed to do with Barkov. You just never know who is the best (well you know who is the best that time but still the players are so young that anything can happen) and who has the most potential. Only time will tell.
Huge mistake
This guy is injury prone and a big question mark off the ice...

My opinion: Columbus and Vancouver handed Edmonton and Calgary two future top line players for two solid NHL players. but you're right about "only time will tell"
