They'd be lucky to get him for $3Mx3. I'd do that in a heartbeat.

If another team decides they think he can be their starter then $4M-$5M with term would not be shocking.

The only thing benefitting the team right now in negotiations is that he lost big last summer by holding out for a better deal. He might be a little nervous that that might happen again. If he likes Vancouver he may decide to sign sooner rather than later.

I think the only way Lankinen re-signs is if the Canucks end up trading Demko.

Would you guys roll the dice and try to get a good return for Demko and try to re-up Lankinen?

Demko is obviously better when healthy, but his long term health is a concern.

I think Lankinen will take the money if offered. The issue is that I can’t see the Canucks won’t offering him term and $3-4M AAV to be a backup.

Personally, I roll the dice on Demko being healthy and elite. His health issues might actually make it possible to extend him to a lower AAV. Given the recent goalie contracts that have been given out, Demko was pretty much guaranteed a long term contract at $8M+ AAV. That still might be the case but it will be on the lower end.
