Yeah, it has been a long time since we've developed players in the minors. Nearly all of our prospects that panned out in the past decade went straight into the NHL (or only played a few games in the AHL).

And it’s such and underrated aspect of an organization, because saving money on say a Pettersson over a Forbort or a Raty over a Blueger just adds that much more to the spend at the top of the lineup.

while he did impress me at WJC, I was a little worried when he didn't make the Orebro team and subsequently loaned away. turns out it was completely unfounded, and worked to his advantage in development.

Im still "wait and see", but hes been so obviously good out of left field that I dont know what to think, looks like there is no need for Braden Schneider afterall.

If he turns into a Ekholm we will probably have a top 3 defence in the league. The coaching staff is also best case scenario for him along with all the Swedish players on the team.

It could be a case of him getting loaned to play a bigger role in Allsvenskan. Its a very competetive league.

Seems to get more comfortable with every shift. He's stepping into shots (92+ mph on one last night I believe). Making good reads. Doing the things he needs to do to stay in the lineup. Keep on giving him 13-15 minutes.

Makes you wonder what happened with Corrado who showed like he belonged in the NHL at the same age.
Injuries, playing under a dogshit development system (led by Desjardins at the NHL level and Green at the AHL level), then getting picked off waiver by the Leafs, who barely played him for like a year and a half at the age of 22-24 which was an absolutely crucial stage of his development to be getting games in at the AHL or NHL level.

Anyways, some places DPetey listed as 6’2, some places he’s 6’3 and some places he’s 6’4. Which one is it. If he’s really 6’4… that’s awesome.
