Great return for Ottawa
It's a horrible trade. None of those 1sts are blue chip assets
This puts the Sens in a re-tool phase when these are prime years for Stutzle, Sanderson, Chabot.
Great return for Ottawa
Ah, the brothers reunite.
So much for Brady's promise of commitment, hehe.
Brady going to Florida certainly makes sense of all those DeBrusk to Ottawa rumors.
Exactly why I'm so hesitant w/ Chase Reid for our 3rd pick. Not worth potentially torpedoing the team once we're competitive again. This puts the Sens in a re-tool phase when these are prime years for Stutzle, Sanderson, Chabot.
They’ll have a bunch of extra picks to spend, if the reported acquisition price is accurate.

9th overall this draft is a really good asset. It's a horrible trade. None of those 1sts are blue chip assets

Feels like the Sens sold low. A Brady Tkachuk trade seemed of some sort was telegraphed two years ago and they waited until he had a poor season that made such a trade an immediate need.
Looks like I was immediately correct here.Edmonton does it again. Bowman just keeps shovelling assets and cap space at non-impactful bottom-six players.
In a vacuum, Seattle will "win" the trade from a value perspective. Samoskevich will be a top-six forward, which is better than your expected outcome from a 25th overall pick.
In the big picture, what does this actually accomplish for Seattle? The get yet another good-but-not-great forward, and basically just further ossifies their roster as one that will finish 9th or 10th in the West every season.
Florida will convert the picks into another roster player that helps them go on another Cup. In reality, they are the winners here.
9th overall is overrated. They probably take someone like Smits, who is a #4 guy. The other picks are B-tier assets (unless FLA somehow falls completely out in 2029). And you still have to factor in the TVM. A 2029 pick isn't a real contributor until like 2032 at best.9th overall this draft is a really good asset.
I expect them to only end up using one of these 4 picks and the rest will be flipped.
Someone tell Ottawa Debrusk is worth a 1st and EP is worth 9th overall.

No matter what you think, they can get a boat load for 3 first and a secondIt's a horrible trade. None of those 1sts are blue chip assets

This is extremely bad for Ottawa. This is a team that needs to be competing right now, not taking a step back as their core ages into their prime. They should be looking to flip all of these picks (#9 included) for a high-end roster player right now.
