Canucks & NHL News, Rumours, and & Fantasy GM | You incurred Vector's wrath and broke the site.

Rick Dhaliwal was on with Kypreos and Bourne on Friday. For someone in the market, he has very little grasp on the market itself.

He said Tocchet doesn't have a contract, that's not entirely true as he has a team option that Allvin has said he sees as an extra year, hence the lack of urgency to talk longer extension with tocchet.

He painted this picture about the media getting to tocchet. How it's this massive situation. The media got to green, it didn't get to boudreau, but it's definitely getting to tocchet. Based on comments he's made.

This is also completely misunderstood by Rick. Tocchet's recent comments were entirely directed at Farhan and they were entirely about the attempt at fabricating controversy over Boeser not wearing an 'A'.

Even in that scrum after tocchet got things off his chest he was joking around with kuzma, iMac etc.

When Rick isn't being fed information directly from an agent, he's clueless.

Well, that was fun.
Is it over yet?

Turns out my post about the Coach/Miller thing was right.
Now is the Tocchet going to Philly and Torts getting promoted, rumor but seems pretty sure.
The Canucks did get an offer for Boeser, a first rnd pick from Carolina albeit a late one but that is better than nothing IMO
Now I am just putting bits and pieces together here on Demko. An opinion.
Knee issue, back issue, groin issue, these are all symptoms of a bad hip(s) often stated.
AND his hips are never ever mentioned as a possibility even though it is common that after 10+ years post impingement surgery they can have problems, even his time off is similar to various procedures to help hips.
The pop muscle, actually McDavid has his detached and not surgically repaired.

These are also opinions.
EP40 sudden resurgence look like possibly pain killers and/or anti decongestants. The public know this happens in hockey, Kesler had a nice piece on this and there is limited testing in the NHL.
One game he looks listless and the next he is better than the previous 2 1/2 years. And filled with energy in a back to back in the third period, skating the best this season and last.

Canucks are a desperate team, some of the players are pressured to go to great lengths.
It could be just EP40 stepping up his game so he can be more tradable.

I find the Tocchet rumor makes sense for Philly and Tocchet and Torts. And because it came from out east more possibly accurate
This is just f***ing bizarre. Petey played well. Must be on drugs. Hey Guardian, you dipping into the Sudafed again?

Even when fed information he doesn’t know how to decipher it have the time.

Ya, he’s still not skating great and moving his feet like he needs to succeed.

It is curious that like his best stretch of four games or so comes right after he makes a humble declaration that he needs to be better. Kind of hard to ignore that as a data point either way, even if we all recognize he still has a long way to go.

Not just he played well but in the span of a week he went from being invisible for over 15 months to suddenly being a totally different player and had more energy than all the players in the third period of a back to back that he just played 20 min the game before. More energy than the night before.
If you have never experienced this kind of "getting up for the game" you just don't know.

Noticed a lot of talk of Dallas' cap situation and the name that pops a lot to move out is Mason Marchment.

If he could be had for a 2nd (which a lot of Dallas fans are suggesting he could be), he'd be a nice option to try on Petey's wing. Would be nice to add some more size to the top 6.

He's a slow and weird skater.

I'd target speed over size with how slow this team is.

And the next time Farhan was at a scrum, him and Tocchet joked around.

The market, the sport itself, the business surrounding it ... just a very dumb guy who works well as an agent's stenographer but without the ability to even articulate an interesting thought, let alone generate one.

You might not like but he is not bad person there is no reason to insult him. Criticize him all you like but I just see no need to insult or demean him.

So who are we trading on D this offseason to help on forward?

Junior
Willander
Mancini
Kudrasev
Mynio

At least one of those will be traded me thinks.
The only ones with value is Willander and junior. So most likely junior since we have KK amf Mynio behind him.

The way to approach is to let Mynio play half a season in the A and see if he can be on the same trajectory as junior. If he can then you can think about moving junior.

I think both Kudryavtsev and Mynio will hold some value. But not a lot.

The bigger question is - who the hell are you trading for? There are very few centers with upside that I see being on the trade block. Hell, 3 of them moved this season: Frost, Cozens, and Norris. So whose left? Zegras? Shane Pinto maybe? Peyton Krebs if we're scraping the bottom of the barrel?

Yeah I don't understand the hate. Haven't really seen or heard anything from him that makes him seem unlikeable.

He's not articulate and he's not a real hockey analyst but he doesn't claim to be.

He's just very connected with agents and provides a ton of good information. Maybe a misread on his part could lead to faulty information but that's likely the case with any insider.

Halford & Brough asked Seravalli about Tocchet to the Flyers and his response is that the Flyers aren’t firing Tortorella nor will they move him to the front office.

There’s very little substance to this rumour and is on par with Pettersson going to the Blackhawks to play with Nylander.

We can't block people right now I guess?

Are they going to be able to restore post counts or is that done now?

Miller hasn't exactly been complimentary of the Canucks since arriving back in Manhattan. He's basically saying it's 'good to be enjoying playing hockey again'.

I'm beginning to wonder how long it'll be before the Rangers room is as dysfunctional as it was in Vancouver earlier this season?

The Canucks did OK. They got Chytil and Mancini, who looks like a serviceable young d-man. And they flipped the first rounder to the Pens to get Marcus Pettersson and O'Connor--and have re-signed them both.

And basically dumped more than $12m in contracts for Miller, Desharnais, Heinen and Brannstrom. And all it really cost them were a couple of B-C level prospects in Dorrington and Fernstrom.

Given that there were only a couple of teams Miller was even willing to be traded to--hard to argue with what they got.

People are so silly when they make up narratives to suit there own agenda. I keep seeing all these dumb articles on my phone saying JT is slagging Pettersen and the Canucks. Fake news. He's a tool anyway.

Mynio IMO you keep, Kudra should be the odd man I’d imagine.
I think the opposite actually, I think Kudryatsev screams NHLer and has darkhorse top 4 upside, Mynio right now is a longshot. But he has the WJC squad decoration and top CHL standing, so he is a high asset for a move. Kud is a late pick tearing it up, he won’t net the value he should.

More than anything, he's the guy who's furthest away from the NHL and therefor the most expendable.
