These depth defensemen contracts are absolutely ludicrous. No wonder we passed on Dillon and Edmunson.

AFP had Edmunson at like 2x$1.7M, which is about what I’d be comfortable paying him.

He is a Big Boy who I would prefer to Forbort, for sure, but who will be more costly. And definitely isn't the answer for a PMD.

I think if he is brought in we have to imagine there is a trade afoot, one of our forwards heading out, because we would still need another Dman. Unless we thought he could handle top line duty with Hughes, and put Hronek with Soucy?

Wonder if Jani Hakanpaa is their guy?

i'm skeptical debrusk will be a good fit with pettersson so they still need to figure out some linemates for him. heinen and hoglander probably isn't it. maybe they'll figure out something with garland

i like the heinen and sherwood signings tho. the bottom six should be a lot better without lafferty, aman and podkolzin (i'm assuming even if heinen plays in the top 6, that'll push suter down to the 4th)

I'm worried over Boqvist's concussion history, he had two last season if I recall from getting a puck to the head and colliding with linesperson

Nylander would be fired into the sun by Tocchet one of the laziest guys I have seen play hockey way back to when he was on the Sweden WJC team with Pettersson.

Boqvist has never completed a full NHL season. Colour me nervous. Kylington also has an injury history but I might prefer him. Though he shoots left.

And can we even add another forward in Nylander? Is he going to outproduce Hoglander? Someone would have to go.

The problem is that Suter brings huge value relative to his contract. He wouldn't be my first choice to trade.

I thought Carrier had signed in Carolia or was that William, the forward?
