this is what happens when you have 2 dumb GM’s on the phone with each other.

Remember in Fallout 2 if your character is a total dimwit, he could not even talk to people normally because the dialogue options are all "uh" or "nuh" and such. And then you when you talk to this equally dumb tribal dude in...Redding I think? All of a sudden the two of you can have a very well orated conversation for some inexplicable reason.

Because the objective in the NHL is to hit and not score goals... lmao.

117 points in 201 games as a late bloomer that can play center. 27 with a small cap hit at 3.5M signed for two more years after this.

Won't cost much too.
he’s not a good centre. He doesn’t PK. He’s questionable defensively. He has no real utility. He’s soft.

C'mon.

You might not like the player but saying someone that scored 45 points in 71 games last year and 43 points in 51 games the year before that has no utility is just being silly.

If he was an amazing player, he wouldn't have been shipped. He's one of the few realistic centre options that can help insulate our lineup after Suter leaves. He's better than than Blueger or Raty as a 3C behind Chytil/Petey.

He also wouldn't cost much... I wouldn't be surprised if a 2nd round pick would be enough for him tbh.

I mean, he’s a Kuzmenko level player that happens to play center. I’m not sure if that’s what we really need. I wouldn’t say he’s an upgrade over Blueger for this team.

Well all our picks this year and next year, the return from Suter and Boeser which is 1st+2nd at minimum. Mynio, Kudryastev, Raty, and all our other prospects. That is a lot of assets to work with.

None of which have the pedigree to bring in a replacement for Boeser or a top six center. One of the biggest reasons it took us so long to address our defense need was because every team insisted on Willander.

I believe Rantanen would hold up the Boeser market.
Only caveat being they're currently in separate conferences, for the teams that still value that..

If we move Brock might as well retain, and I wonder if a Brock & Suter combo could return something similar to, or better than the kraken just received.

Also there's so many good targets and options, I've been going through rosters repeatedly, heads swimming with trades. Excited to see what happens in the next forty-eight hours, we know something is going to happen.
