Canucker
Go Hawks!
Trade Boeser, Hoglander and a conditional pick, for Rantanen and a conditional pick. If Boeser or Rantanen walk the team gets a pick.

“Patrik, lets self rental Boeser, trade the 1st for Brayden Schenn, and acquire Jason Zucker. Get in, we’re going to the playoffs”
Trading draft picks and prospects to build around the declining 34 year old Sedins in 2014 is pretty clearly not the same thing as selling the same kinds of assets to build a competitive team to prevent a 25 year old Hughes from ditching us to play with his brothers.
I think the biggest challenge in competing during a Cap Era is maximizing your roster talent while your ELCs are outperforming their cap hits.
We needed to be a true contender while our core had a combined hit of $20 million. But that got f***ed because of horrendous asset management through the rest of the roster. That's where your Beagles and Roussels are absolute death sentences.
Now we need another wave of elite ELC talent. Willander and Lekkerimaki are a start, but they aren't on the same level of Pettersson and Hughes.
Yup…. No cups in their history? Run into the ground at every corner. Seems a little more accurate than anything.Yeah. Hughes surely will think like this next contract. This take is completely out to lunch.
dramatic
haha why would the jets pay a premium to downgrade assets?Boeser for Ehlers +.
I think the wild card in what we do is how healthy is Hughes. If he is going to be out for a significant time, I think you sell.
I think the players would understand that without him we don't really have a chance and playoffs is not likely.
With him I think you make moves to improve the club, and that can still include trading a Boeser, if you are making other moves to backfill and improve.

What's so damn frustrating is despite all of those death sentence contracts, we were almost out of it. Almost free. Then Aquilini allowed Benning to do one more trade to save his job and now we're paying for a bought out OEL.
Idiots. Both of them.

different situations, but the lankinen contract doesn't look great compared to this
Im starting to warm up to the idea of offering Tavares a 2 year contract.
Term is short. Yes hes slow but he's consistent and he would offer some leadership qualities. Id put him in the 1RW instead of Boeser.
The term being 2 years is key.
Debrusk - EP - Tavares is isn't world class but it's tolerable.
No but in 2 years he will be old enough to start wearing them outsideDid he have a pair of Canucks pajamas as a kid?
so you had the plus on the wrong side then? That's where the + comes in.
They don't appear to be on track to re-sign him, and the Canucks could desperately use him as a long term fit.

Yeah, Lankinen's deal pretty quickly becoming a bad look.
