With Last nights game we're surefire sellers right?

Ha. Highly doubtful, I don't know why fans would think this. We're still in a wildcard spot. It's just one bad game.

I mean I personally hope we sell but it doesn't make sense to totally change your mind as a management group because we lost one random game, #60 of 82. We still have 44 points available up for grabs so these 2 shouldn't be that pivotal.

Would Minny trade Juricek to get Boeser? Is he a guy we’d want? Or would Allvin flip him for a young centre?

Yeah I have to agree with @Hockeyfan200. They didn't acquire Jiricek just to trade him. He's also not going to get you a very good piece in return anyway.

I don't think Minny really gives a sh!t about Boeser or that he's from there. Not sure why anyone does to be honest. Has nothing to do with getting the best team together you can.

Soucy being moved frees up 2 million in cap space and he gets replaced by EP2, I doubt he returns up much in the way of roster players, perhaps a 3rd round pick which we could use in another piece to acquire some actually goal scorers

I thought he’d be a piece coming back to the Canucks for cap reasons in a Miller trade. He could be a good scoring depth acquisition. But I doubt he’s on our radar.

I don't think mgmt will actively sewer the team but they're not going to spend assets to improve it either at this point.

They're still holding on to a wildcard spot or in the mix at least, (I haven't looked at the standings today.)

They're not going to trade picks for help. What they might do is make a Boeser trade for a piece that slots in immediately or for futures that they can turn around and flip for a younger long term piece.

But I don't think they're going to say trade all the ufas and then run a roster of bains, Aman, Karlsson etc as regulars

Impossible to get these star forwards other than through the draft. Our D looks fine now. But with Petey playing so poorly we are hooped up front.

Boeser will be traded for draft capital that will be flipped for a reclamation project like Norris or Zegras. Soucy will cost a third to clear all his contract.

All for what? A chance to barely make the playoffs "if we do at all" and be eliminated first round. Not worth it. Aquaman has to go, he's been screwing the Canucks and their fans from doing a proper rebuild/retool for too long now.

Anyways I would rest Hughes and Pettersson for the remainder of the season. I'd cashout on Boeser and get that very good prospect and 1st rounder rumored return.
Obviously trade Soucy when you can.
Love Suter but he is going to get paid. I would probably take the 2nd rounder for him.
Blueger any fringe depth piece I would be collecting picks and prospects.

Bring up Sasson, Raty or whoever not named Bains and see what they can do.

Aim for players who are having bad seasons. Maccelli is a good choice. Collect players who have bounce back potential.

Call it a season. Have a good draft. Sign a big wig free agent such as Rantanen, Ehlers or Marner and call it a day.

Aim for better next year.

Probably not in the traditional sense, but I could see them doing more of what they’ve already done … ie. picking up futures and immediately flipping them for more help. They should also be able to go shopping with cap space.

I don’t think they’ll move any notable futures outside possibly the 2025 1st rounder and don’t see them chasing rentals, but ownership needs to justify their ticket price increases next season and a few playoff games might be their way of trying to do that.

Brock should be a late 1st or multiple 2nds, that is more than fair.

1st + a good forward prospect. The teams wanting to trade for him are in a win now position so I'm sure they'd be willing to give up one of their better prospects. The Canucks can leverage that 1st, which I suspect they will based on all their other acquisitions involving a 1st.

Additionally, because of the cap room, they can likely take on an overpaid player that can fill a role here and get more assets in order to revamp the team as necessary.

None of this matters if Petey continues to suck, unfortunately.

I'm on the trade Demko, Suter, and Soucy train right now. Boeser is a 50/50 - he's shown to be a high end finisher when there's speed on his line and someone to pass him the puck. Still very valuable - but maybe not $8 million valuable.

Clearly they are going to retool again even though more is needed due to pettersson/demko regression.

They aren't going to trade a rhd who can log 20+ a game at a good cap hit despite his gaffs.

Expiring ufas dealt, soucy as he's been replaced by dpetey, hoglander as it's going real bad.

I'd throw garland in there as well because he's not a top 6 forward and they sure as heck shouldn't be spending 12mil on the 3rd line they currently deploy as their 2nd line.

I love Suter but I’d let him leave/ trade him and plug McLeod in 3C.

I agree, they're not going to just sell-off while they're (technically) still in a playoff spot. And a one game result really shouldn't change their opinion of the team. Plus, it's Aquaman. Two home playoff games or bust is the organization's mandate.

But looking at this season so far, and the team as is, are they really better than UTA/STL/CGY/SEA/ANA? Like actually in any material way? How we should be looking at this club, on talent, they might be worse than UTA (IMO UTA is certainly a better quality team) and STL at this point. And like on the same level as CGY/ANA/SEA. That's not good.

Agreed on your Boeser point. I don't think MIN/Guerin have any particular attachment to him.
