Probably because he can't technically agree to a deal and keep his ncaa status?

I’m curious if it’s agreed and they are figuring out some of the details and won’t say anything until
His semester is over.

Seravalli gave a similar report when Pettersson signed an extension but it was denied by everyone else.

The big news here is Celebrini didn’t sign with the Canucks and the dream of the two Celebrinis playing together in Vancouver is now dead

Celebrini still has two years of college left, during which we still retain his rights. He could sign after his 3rd or 4th college season (if he and the Canucks want to).

Unless there’s something I’m missing?

Trade Garland this summer. Try and get out of the Chytil business in whatever trade you make for an F and use him as the salary going back the other way. Man was he unimpressive after like the first 3 games he played.

Joshua - Suter - Sherwood
DOC - Blueger - Karlsson
Raty

Run that as your bottom six.

And then find four top six forwards around Pettersson and DeBrusk. Whether that's internal solutions (Hoglander, Lekkerimaki), or via trade, or FA -- doesn't matter. Those two should absolutely be trade bait too. Especially Hoglander because I think his value is probably the highest it's been since the TDL last year given the way he's played the last four months. I still question the iQ.

Anyways, yeah, finding three forwards needs to be done. They chose this path. They needed one more a year ago and they tried (Guentzel, Zucker). They lost Boeser and Miller. So yeah, find an elite F, a C, and a complimentary 2nd line winger. 2/3 need to be matchup capable and 2/3 need to be PP1 guys and 2/3 need to have some size and speed.

Just a monstrous task to find the types of guys they need.

They’re not going to add 3-4 legitimate top 6 forwards in an offseason.

Debrusk - EP - Hoglander
Joshua - Suter - Garland
O’Conner - Blueger - Sherwood
Aman/Raty/Karlsson/Sasson

Hoglander’s spot (UFA) and a top 6 C (trade) are the two most obvious upgrades. Maybe you trade for a C and move Suter to EP’s wing to fix both. But replacing half or more of the top 6 is unrealistic.

I don’t care what’s realistic.

They chose a path that was unrealistic in the first place years ago. And then they somehow did make the moves to turn into a top five ish team.

The path is impossible. They have to do the impossible. It’s not even as if I’m exaggerating it. Even just two forwards is literally just replacing Brock and Miller, who they lost this year. If they think 2/3 of Garland, Lekkerimaki, Hoglander can be two of the solutions in the top six, they still need an elite play driver and matchup capable 2c... and both need to be elite PP1 options !!
