Ready to say that Hughes is the greatest player we will likely ever have.

I'm starting to lean towards keeping Pettersson unless someone is willing to pay a superstar price for him.

His offensive contribution isn't acceptable but I think his strong defensive play makes it easier to be patient while he figures it out. This team needs high end talent.

That pass last night to Hronek was absolutely filthy.

If Boeser doesn't take a 6 year deal, I can see a Norris for Boeser deal happening. The familiarity with Green is big here.

Outside of that, it would be what they get back for Boeser given over to OTT. Though I think the player is preferred given their 1WC position.

VAN landing Norris without giving up Boeser would result in a good line-up overall, even if Norris would play only 50~ games a year.

I'd rather they re-sign Boeser and use a 1st + mid prospect for Norris.

also hope they try to bring in a secondary piece in Maccelli/Roslovic/Reichel.

There's little value in carrying Soucy as a #6 dman, imo. I think they move him if that's the case.

I hope they try something like this before reverting to Hughes-Hronek once more:

Hughes-Myers
MPetey-Soucy
Forbort-Hronek

Rationale:
- Myers has approximated Hronek with Hughes this year. This is a massive boon.
- Hronek is finding a transition game with Forbort, and without Hughes. This is a positive development.
- They must test what they have in Soucy on his off-side before the deadline.

I think most agree that EP25 is going to get demoted once Hughes returns. Given that, if MPetey can replicate EP25's play alongside Soucy, then there will be no net loss. They could be the shutdown pair and the other 2 pairs remain the engine for the team.

And if Soucy fails in this regard, move him out. Use his cap space elsewhere.
And Juulsen is still on the roster...unreal

what if he only plays ~50 total?

I dont think norris has near that, or Boeser's value.

One of the most interesting and tough decisions Allvin has to make prior to the TDL, is what do about Boeser.

Once he gets past the TDL without being traded, the clock starts ticking until his UFA status kicks in on July 1st. Obviously it's almost impossible to trade an impending UFA after the TDL has come and gone.

And the situation is compounded by the fact there's been 'zero discussions' between Boeser's agent and the Canucks on a new deal. So what do they do? Allvin is loathe to let a guy like Boeser walk for nothing.

Obviously the odds favor him being dealt before March 7th. But sometimes you have to think about 'dressing-room culture' first. Certainly the Canucks have had a bad experience this year, with that development.

Maybe it's unfounded optimism on my part. But I expect Boeser and the Canucks to come up with a compromise deal. Boeser and his agent leave a little money on the table, and Allvin offers up the term he wants to stay in Vancouver.

I'm sure a lot of Boeser's teammates are probably cheering from the sidelines for that outcome.

I just don't see a Boeser trade happening with this team trying to make the playoffs and now finally playing like they can. With all their cap space, I see them adding speed and skill in a top 6 winger more likely. The writing is probably on the wall for Hoglander as the throw in roster player, especially since the team really likes what DOC brings.

DeBrusk Pettersson Sherwood
------ Chytil Boeser
Joshua Suter Garland
O Connor Bleuger Aman/Sasson

Is likely the skeleton with Hoglander/O Connor in that top 6 spot until a forward is acquired.

People have mentioned Filip Forsberg, wonder if the cost would be similar to Hertl, recent first rounder/1st. Willander & Lekk are untouchable, maybe a deal around Raty/Hoglander, Mynio/Kudryavtsev & 1st.

Debrusk - Petey - Forsberg
DoC - Chytil - Boeser
Joshua - Suter Garland
(Aman) - Blueger - Sherwood

Whatever happens I just hope Allvin has set an internal deadline of UFA for the trade deadline. If he's not signed by then get whatever you can for him.

I’d imagine it’d require a minimum of 1st+Lekkerimaki++. Forsberg is a legit star, a tier above Hertl.

I would probably do it.
