If Soucy is dealt, and the bottom pairing is EP2 and Forbort (which is fine) it leaves them with the almost certain expectancy that Juulsen will suit up at some point. Which is really not acceptable.

Unless they really think Soucy will move the needle in terms of an add-on for a big trade - or if they are moving him for a cheaper bottom pairing guy plus - it doesn't make a ton of sense to trade him now.

I could see Chicago making a big ass play for a sign and trade with Boeser. Not only do they have way too many prospects that they don't have room for, some are tantalizing centers. Plus Kyle Davidson has show to be meh.

True, and I suppose this isn't the worst time to gamble given that, as it stands, they aren't likely to win the Cup this year. And I would far rather see Willander get a shot than Juulsen any more. But Soucy has some life in him yet, I'd warrant.

Just guessing based on what the Canucks are rumored to be after. I think the Canucks want speed - I haven't seen enough of Teravainen to know if that's a big part of his game or not.

I really like that shout. Teuvo Teravainen was a good producer with Aho and is a slick, fast, defensively responsible pass first winger that may work well with EP40. Would be a very slight pair though, so would need some size with them (maybe DOC or Joshua)

I mean, it wouldn’t be the first time.
Hodgson, Dickinson, Pearson, Demko, Mik. They have a history of f***ing up hard and majority of it very recently.

How could they? NYR are a top 3 team after trading scraps for superstar JT miller.

So JTs only goals have gone in a 6-3 loss... Cool. So he's the same. Have fun for the next 5 years losers.

I'm regularly reminded of my one visit to the company doctor when I was working in a mill town on the island. It was emphatically clear what his focus was, and it wasn't my health.

Lets have another Generation Lindros like trade ...

Canucks send E. Petey + Boeser + Carson Soucy + to Islanders

Canucks send Lekkerimaki + first to Maple Leafs

Islanders send Noah Dobson + Anders Lee pick to Maple Leafs

Maple Leafs send Mitch Marner to Canucks

Islanders send Brock Nelson (extended) and a first to Canucks

Maple Leads send their first and Ryan Reaves to the Isles

Now why?

Isles can put Barzal to the wing and also have brock boeser and still have 2 1b centers, Scouy is a cheapp Dobson replacement.

Maple leafs replace a super star scoring machine with a playoff winning gritty power winger, defense is greatly improved ad enough futures that the sting of losing marner to the fans in not that bad (really great return)

Canucks get a replacement for pettersson, not a super star but a bo horvat light like guy, but receive probably the best player in the deal overall marner.

Yeah we dont get Dobson, and frankly we dont need him now. What we need is an elite scoring winger to replace boeser of better talent and a bo horvat like 1b center to hold us over until we can trade or draft our next Top 1C. Yes we give up a lot.

E. Petey + Lettermaki > Brock + Leafs first
Boeser + first < Marner

Hog can’t even get a sniff anymore, there’s no redemption with this coach, Hogs is a 4th line energy guy in his eyes. Few mistakes and Kurashev will be benched aswell. Probably Hog for Kur or Reichal.
 
With Miller gone, the Canucks badly need a center to play some hard minutes against guys like McDavid and MacKinnon.

Brayden Schenn's name is out there as being available, but he looks kind of washed and has 3 more years left after this one on his contract. Maybe O'Reilly is an option? He still has a couple of years left and isn't ideal either. Pickings are slim, and they also need some offense from the wing.
