He has never been a PPG player until maybe this season. I say maybe because he is currently 1 point over PPG.
You can rationalize oh he doesn't get enough minutes and all that but at the end of the day, the best you can do is maybe argue that he's a PPG winger that has a bad playoff record. He hasn't even hit 30 goals yet so you can't even argue yet he is a 30 goal scorer. So far in the existing flatish cap world, those players don't get more than 7.5M, if they do, who is the comparable? The closest comparable i find is Hagel and he's at 6.5M but I guess that is lowered by the term. So I think something around 7ish in a flat cap world is a pretty reasonable assumption. Cap is going up by like 30% in 2 years, so i guess aggressively you can argue he should get 9, that's still like way below what you are suggesting which is 12.
Agree.I’d much rather have someone with Willander’s potential on our right side than Dobson tbh.
Also agree.I’d much rather have someone with Willander’s contract on our right side than Dobson tbh.
these are all replacement level players
at his best boeser is a very good winger but at his worst he's in that group. i'm not saying he's trash and he needs to go i just think any team committing to him for 5+ years is going to regret it hard
Again, Boeser's worst is much better than their best. Boeser's worst is Conor Garland's best. Solid floor, high ceiling. Not saying I'd WANT to pay for that floor on the chance age related decline makes it Boeser's status-quo production. I agree the Canucks have to be weary and careful.these are all replacement level players

Oh absolutely. I’m just saying Pettersson doesn’t have the value to land both Barzal and Dobson without another significant piece involved and Willander would probably be it. Maybe Hronek. If you have Dobson/Hronek in your top-four you probably feel comfortable trading away Willander as there won’t be meaningful minutes for him in the next 6-8 years.
Id bet my bottom dollar that willander doesn't reach what Dobson is now.I’d much rather have someone with Willander’s potential on our right side than Dobson tbh.
There’s nobody in the league I’d trade Willander for other than like Brady Tkachuk.
I'm a big ehlers fan too. I'm all for signing him if we let Brock walk. And like you, I think he meshes well with Petey. He has the speed and puck control that this team likes.I like Ehlers a lot. Think he'd pair well with Petey, can carry the puck through the neutral zone, incredible on the PP. AFP's projected contract for him is 6 x $7.5M which I'd do in a heartbeat.
Hello it's me, Vector.
- Blues could move Brayden Schenn, testing/gauging the market. "Return would have to be mammoth." - Dreger
- CBJ plans to be moderate buyers, not going after big names. Wants to add a top 9 winger (rental), not moving 1sts. - LeBrun
- NYI might not move Nelson, but LeBrun doesn't think they'll re-sign him either.

I am not saying I like it or dislike it. I am saying or should’ve been more clear is I just don’t see teams throwing away money like that by introducing hyper inflation by giving 12M to Ehlers. He's been very near a point per game for several seasons previous to this.
You don't have to like it but smart teams are going to be making very big offers to this player. If he makes it to free agency he'll be able to take his pick. He's easily the 3rd best forward who will be UFA this year after Rantanen and Marner.
Feels like every time we see headline saying return could be MASSIVE and then its 1st, B prospect and roster player and maybe another low round pick. Why would Brayden Schenn get a mammoth return given his age and decline? He's on pace to score less than 50 points this year and he's got two more years after this at 6.5 and those are his age 34 and 35 seasons.
Inb4 we're a first round exit and Boeser walks. I'm actually planning for that happening based on all reported rumors.Lou Lamoriello at his finest.
lol mammoth? he's a 33 year old center who tops out at 20 goals and 50 points. Then again, 32 year old Granlund got a first, but even Granlund is more productive.- Blues could move Brayden Schenn, testing/gauging the market. "Return would have to be mammoth." - Dreger
“Young Petey” is Junior.
They should trade Boeser and not use him as an internal rental. Having had to trade Miller they need the rental assets to upgrade at center later.Inb4 we're a first round exit and Boeser walks. I'm actually planning for that happening based on all reported rumors.
We are almost guaranteed to make the playoffs and have the players that could make a run. The Islanders don’t even have a 50% of making the playoffs. I think they have like a 15% imo. Very different situations.Inb4 we're a first round exit and Boeser walks. I'm actually planning for that happening based on all reported rumors.

like o'reilly, braeden schenn would be an interesting win now move if he had less term. but you're not getting 3 more useful years out of him.Why would Brayden Schenn get a mammoth return given his age and decline? He's on pace to score less than 50 points this year and he's got two more years after this at 6.5 and those are his age 34 and 35 seasons.
Not without two more forwards. Three of the cogs who elevated our PP in Miller, Kuzmenko, Horvat.. haven’t been replaced. We are almost guaranteed to make the playoffs and have the players that could make a run.
