That's a little optimistic. Everyone will have more money to spend. There are 29 teams spending more than $80m this season and I don't think that's going to change a lot.
If Pettersson can get near to his previous form, his contract is going to be an amazing deal. You'd think that there is still significant value to be derived from Miller's contract.
If the Canucks can get Hughes on board, they should seriously consider keeping both players. At the end of the day, both players are right about each other. Pettersson needs to get his shit together, and Miller needs to shut the f*** up. Until both players realize that, the ability for the team to derive trade value from them will be significantly lower than it should be.
