If that was the deal for Petey there would be riots. Mateychuk is a really good prospect but Jenner has major health concerns and is older.

You can’t do a deal with Cbj for Miller or Petey without KJ, Fantilli or Sillinger involved.

I know but he is a good #2 when healthy and seems on the surface to be a professional on and off the ice. I think he would play well under Rick as well.

The days of pretending Miller and EP and these amazing trade chips is over. Miller is a hot head with issues. EP is streaky, immature, a massive cap hit and also seems to have serious health concerns.

We also save 8M by swapping EP and Jenner. Its not a direct assets to asset trade. We also get 8M to spend in the market this off season.

I guess not confirmed but Cam Robinson said he believes it was and why wouldn’t it have been? It probably would’ve had to involve KK for salary reasons and I’m guessing either the Canes’ 1st and/or a decent prospect. Probably similar to the offer from last season.

I had theorized on here that one of the purposes of JR’s interview would be to cause Miller to expand the teams he’d be willing to be traded to as a result of the negative pressure on him, so this makes sense.

I "think" this goes further back to when both were still unsigned. I recall the rumor was that Bo was part of the core and they were going to keep him over JT. It feels like a long time ago now and I can't quite remember, but wasn't JT's signing a bit of a surprise? Everyone thought they were going to keep Bo instead.

That’s exactly it. The word all summer was that the team was prioritizing re-signing Horvat and would trade Miller, then the Miller signing happened out of the blue right before training camp. Someone (Dhaliwal I think) reported it came together quickly too.

Probably the Rangers. Issue being, they don’t want what the Rangers are offering.
