A spare contract slot is more valuable than Boqvist.

I dislike this obsession with mediocre failed high draft picks. Boqvist sucks. He’s always sucked. He is a bad NHLer. He can’t fill any role adequately and the Canucks have more interesting internal options.
I don't dispute your assessment of Boqvist, but whom do you consider to be the interesting internal options at right D? It looks like a wasteland to me.

He's an upgrade on any #3 guy on the right side if tocchet is still too stubborn to put soucy there. I dislike not improving our roster every chance we get.

Also this would out us at 48 yes?

D-Petey and Kudryavtsev both play the right side regularly. I’d rather try McWard than Boqvist. Then there’s obviously Willander who will sign and be a Canuck before the end of the season.

For stopgaps, Mark Friedman. Brannstrom also prefers to be on the right side.

He doesn’t improve the roster on any material way that necessitates wasting a contract slot on him. He can’t defend and doesn’t actual push offense. He’s worse than both Juulsen, who can PK (and nothing else), and Brannstrom (who can move the puck).

Fine. I guess I don't think of any of them as interesting.

Tocchett wouldn't play Pettersson or Kudryavtsev on their off sides, and I'll be shocked if McWard becomes an NHLer. I agree that Friedman is a stopgap, but stopgaps aren't that interesting. Then there's the wait for Willander.

Which doesn't mean that Boqvist is worth picking up. I just wondered if I was missing an option at RHD. An interesting one.

Disagree. Also brainstorm is irrelevant as he's left handed. The comparison is boqvist vs the guys we have on the right side.

Rule number one for NHL GMing, never ever ever lose a first or second pairing RHD without getting the same back. Ever. Are you listening Jim Brnning? Effing bufoonery

Rule number two for NHL GMing, never ever ever lose a 1C without getting the same back.

Eff with those rules, and you are effed

I think there’s something there with Boqvist, and I’d claim him.

But I can’t see the Canucks doing so, especially given their reaction to Brannstrom.
Honestly there is really no harm, if he sucks you waive him and FLA will pick him back up to send to the farm.

So yes, these things don’t really mean much but when Juulsen is so bad that his passing is at 0th percentile, then yeah Boqvist is probably at least better at that.

Kevin Lankinen has more points than this guy. Our f***ing goalie has more assists.

The thing I remember most about Mittelstadt was his draft combine pictures

This is the reason I've never like Mitt - even a lazy sack of meat like ME trained enough to do full sets of pull ups and chin ups. I went from needing 50 lb assist to needing none over the course of 6 months.

And this kid who's suppose to be a professional athlete can't even do ONE? Are you kidding me?

Entirely possible.

Waiting patiently for Elliott’s written 32 thoughts to drop tonight (might be delayed cuz of the trade tonight).
