Hey everyone, I’m in a household full of sick people. It’s been this way since last week. I’m exhausted and not fully recovered myself.

The reason I’m tell you this is because my patience is very thin. This is the only public reminder I’ll give the community. Be reapectful to each other. Do not insult.

Those who can’t be adults and abide by these rules will get the full brunt of my wrath.

Last one was over 1,000. Play nicely everyone.

First off. We're not in a playoff spot. Second. What's the goal? To make the playoffs or win the cup? Because those two don't always align.
life is not binary, if we can make it into the playoffs then we should not impede that.
us not being in a position to contend doesn't mean we should just scrap it and give up, players getting playoff experience is good.

if there is no deal to improve the team now long term, then just do it in the offseason.

Mortgaging the future to possibly maybe have a chance at making the playoffs is a recipe for disaster. That's exactly what this is when boeser walks and suter wants close to 5m.

Cody Glass got a 3rd, Beauvillier got a 2nd.

I can understand to a good degree that we as fans tend to over-value our players, it happens to every fanbase. And unless said player is McDavid or Draisaitl level then yeah, over-valuing seems inevitable. But to say that there is NO market for a fair (fair, not even good or great, fair) return with Boeser or Suter, after seeing what other clearly inferior players got, no I call bullshit on that.

In the new era of Fallout games this perk is one of the VERY rare bright spots.

Hope you'll all recover well.

It's hard to make the case this team is positioned to even make the playoffs as currently constructed, though. It has been trending in the wrong direction for a while, is severely offensively challenged, and has highly questionable goaltending. They are probably near the lowest percentage chance to make the playoffs they've been all season. This is also really the worst roster they've iced all year.

I would almost guarantee that no typical, ticket-buying fan is looking at the moves today and thinking they are prioritizing the playoffs.

We are no closer to contending than when the current management group got here.

I dont have strong opinions on what they should do now. The situation is so off the traveled path, refusing to do any long term moves for close to 2 decades.

We are firmly stuck in just existing as a mediocre team.

Will just have to wait for... years?

Lame bald soft swede cuck loser needs to grow some balls, nothing but one of the worst returns, in one of the best sellers markets is pathetic and peak cancucks.

Hopefully they miss the playoffs so fat f*** aqua, weak mgmt and 12M cap space can get rekt.

Team full of soft genz bambi p***yes who cant score is going nowhere, especially adding absolutely nothing. (still better than edm)

losing brock is not really impeding the playoffs with our roster

To those who are proponents of trying to make the playoffs, you can still try without Boeser - give Lekkerimaki a shot in the top-6. But don't do it at the cost of letting prime assets like Boeser walk for nothing/sign him to a bad deal because of heat in the market, which is now really the only 2 options left.

I think we're at least a little closer with an actual D core outside of Hughes and some actual cap space.

Whether or not we can contend has always come down to whether we can weaponize the cap space in the offseason for difference makers (and if EP40 can rejoin the mix). Maybe would have liked to have gotten a contributing piece or player for Brock, but the main point stands.

We didnt have enough elite talent then and we have even less now.

Every team will have cap space next UFA season with the cap bump.

It is not a competetive advantage when compared to other teams.

If EP40 doesnt bounce back we are toast for a good while.

There's no weaponizing cap space in the offseason. Every team has cap space.

The UFAs are going to be weak and anyone of substance likely doesn't come here anyway.

They have no talent in the Top 6 and can't score a goal to save their life.

This was their chance and they blew it completely.

Team will be worse next year once Brock and Suter walks.

Or the team still sucks when they over pay both just to remain "competitive".

1) this team made a ton of moves, and intricate ones during the season

2) boeser offers were hot garbage according to Allvin

3) The canucks need scoring. replacing the scoring boeser adds after getting him for futures wouldn't be as easy as ppl make it out to be

4) if your emotionally dependent on the actions of this team, i recommend going for a walk (to therapy). canucks are in the middle of a play-off push and it's gonna be a meaningful final 20 games

K . this isn't twitter.

The point is if things went well and we were in the position to buy at the deadline, we would be happy that we had extra space to add a player.

But things went south, but it still wasn't wrong to put us in a favorable position in the first place.

If we didn't do it and couldn't add a player ina winning position because of it, it would be Benning levels of lack of foresight and preparation.

They are staring at the deadline headlights like a mesmerised deer.

If playoffs are the goal Soucy is more useful than a 3rd.

If playoffs are the goal they should have been buyers. They weren't.

They "gave up" a 1st+ holding onto self-rentals Boeser and Suter. Clearly they should be fine with giving up more assets to compete since they are not looking to the future. They didn't.

They also said they'd sell Boeser if they couldn't sign him. They didn't. It's out there now they have said it, that genie isn't going back in the bottle.

So what's the direction here? Prepared to lose assets but not spend assets to half compete while not collecting retooling assets for next year. Boeser and Suter re-signing seems to be the only shot they have left.

It would have been better trading Boeser for peanuts than to have this dynamic on the roster moving forward.

I can't imagine there is an agent in the league that would encourage a free agent to come to this team. Say what you will about Benning, but he always treated his players with respect. It's fine to say the offers were not what you felt were acceptable. There is no reason to throw Boeser (and Suter) under the bus.
