A buyout? 1 point in 8 games with them.
Would have to be a mutual contract termination, if that's what you're thinking. Like with Brandan Saad. Can't do buyouts in the middle of the season.

Yes, that would be the correct terminology that I was speaking of. Then off to Vegas Taylor Hall goes just like Saad.Would have to be a mutual contract termination, if that's what you're thinking. Like with Brandan Saad. Can't do buyouts in the middle of the season.
2027 first overall Landon Dupont is next Cale Makar. Tank for him.Can we buy Quinn Hughes 2026 rights for future considerations?
But seriously the management team should be having conversations with him about the future of the team.
This is such interesting wording. The fit hasn't looked great. Is this a deal like a trade? Or a contract termination?
If it's an extension, I'd be really surprised.

Kind of weird for either party to prioritize an extension right now IMO.Strickland is just a bad communicator. I figured he meant contract extension. If he comes really cheap, that perfectly fits with what the Hurricanes want to do.
You'd have to think management would have those conversations with his agent, at the very least this off-season...if they feel the need to move on from both Demko and EP, you'd have to think they are reaching complete tear down mode and Hughes will likely prefer to use his years productively and the team would likely try to extract as much value as possible rather than lose him for nothing. If you can retain on his salary for his final 2 years you can probably get a very tidy haul. Obviously this isn't a desired outcome, but its a possible one.Can we buy Quinn Hughes 2026 rights for future considerations?

First deal, yes....second deal, no.![]()
Mikko Rantanen trade destinations: Could Canucks enter mega-sweepstakes?
If you posited the notion Mikko Rantanen could be swapped twice in-season, somebody would worry you’d stopped wearing your helmet at beer league. But with his name entering trade discussions again, Ryan Dixon looks at some possible proposals for the Finnish superstar.www.sportsnet.ca
Canucks are involved in both proposals.
Vancouver’s participation in a Rantanen trade only makes sense if they are flipping him on to another team. I don’t see wanting to sign long-term in Vancouver.![]()

Those are gross, especially the second one. Good Lord. Someone needs to put down NHL 25.
Provided we can resign Rantanen I do both of those deals.
But it's just fantasy.
i think a lot of us can be frustrated with work, i think having 8M usually soothes over some tensionI'd be blowing up too if I played for this franchise.
And what exactly do you expect Quinn to say? No UFA in 2027 is gonna give you a straight answer. Can we buy Quinn Hughes 2026 rights for future considerations?
