And now he has played fine with the Panthers & Leafs. We did not have to buy him out and he is laughing all the way to the bank, along with his Stanley Cup ring. Brilliant job management group....now we have a ghost of him on the roster for the next 2 years at 4 mill per year!they also have lots of 1st rounder prospects
Didn't we offer him 8 million X 5? but sad. I think Boeser is gone.
Not possible, I think, OEL being 4 years older and much more useless made it hard for us to trade him, thus we had to buy him out.
does he make it the rest of the season before the next one..?Norris also came back today from his latest injury...
I put him in all my Sabres proposals....months ago. Originally it was EP40 for McLeod + Byram + 1st (raw dog). Not sure Byram makes sense anymore though. I'd way rather have him than Cozens.Ryan McLoed is an interesting name. Size, speed and age fits w the core.
Take the assets from Boeser on another forward, hell bet on Norris with those assets and then see how the team does with Quinn and Petey shut down for however long it takes.Id shut down Hughes for the year.
Shut down Petey for the year and keep him, just have to give him the time and confidence to get better unless he wants out.
Trade Boeser.
Trade Soucy.
Keep Forbort for another year if he wants to stay.
Run with Chytil, Suter, Raty, Blueger as Cs, gotta figure out what Ratys worth.
If we tank we tank, use the pick if its worth it or trade it at the draft
I'm never going to give up on being a Canucks fan but real talk. After all we've been through with Benning I honestly feel this is the toughest it's ever been to stick with this team.
It's hard to watch really. After last season where we "gained respect on our name" it's all been thrown in the trash and we are back to rock bottom but without anything to look at in the future.
How can ownership look at this team and be content with the long term investment of this group?
It's mind boggling really but there is something rotten in this franchise that has been stinking since 2012.
They take us for granted. We all won't be here forever...
Yeah, I feel you. I was excited for some momentum after last year, and the first 10 games had some promise from a structural POV, but the players turned out to be way more interested in their personal problems (Petey and Miller) than the team this year. Why? I still have no bleeping clue.
It’s sapped my energy from writing full on post game reports to can’t be bothered to watch anymore. The Benning years completely stole my love of the game - last year did a great job of harvesting and growing what little I had left, but this year has done its best to stomp that out.
This is pretty much how I feel. I completely stopped watching hockey for years because of how bad the Benning era got. Not to mention, my second team being the Habs at the time. Ugh. Hard to justify throwing away three hours to watch a lifeless, boring team lose all the time.
Last season brought that love back, and yet here we are a year later and I'm already skipping out on games again.
in regards to canucks?I'm hearing the situation is very fluid. I'll report back in 10 mins./an hour "ellitote friedman
anybody. doesnt have to be canucks.in regards to canucks?
What would we give Buffalo for cozens?Have to trade Boeser, Suter, Soucy, and Blueger at the very minimum.
They are trying to get Cozens, we will see how that goes.
Debrusk - Pettersson - Lekkerimaki
Hoglander - Cozens - Martone
Joshua - Chytil - Garland
O’Connor - Raty - Sherwood
Hughes - Hronek
M-Pettersson - Willander
E-Pettersson - Myers
Demko

What would we give Buffalo for cozens?
All we keep hearing is Buffalo doesn’t want picks/prospects. If for example we traded boeser to NJ for Mercer then perhaps Mercer and another piece (or two) could be of interest to Buffalo.Maybe they flip the 1st they get back for Boeser and Hoglander for him?
Or maybe BUF wants Boeser a la NYI getting Horvat and immediately re-signing him?
