Canucks & NHL News, Rumours, and & Fantasy GM | 4 Nations Break Edition

Heard Drance say this as well. It's weird because there's the rumour that OTT has been trying to trade him? Making it seem like he would be a cap dump.

Or, maybe they just want to trade him for a similar asset to get out from under his deal?

His usage does suggest Green favours him.
I personally don’t think Travis Green has that kind of say to overpower the GM on personnel decisions.

If Ott was smart they’d dump Norris to open up cap, which is what they reportedly have been trying to do all year.

Hoglander + Soucy for Norris :)

Mason McTavish is their guy they should be targeting and should also include any one of our prospects for. Willander would be on the table for that move, he’s young and the exact type of player we need.

I just heard Friedman say that OTT has been after Brayden Schenn....

Bring a centre in, trade one out. Lines up pretty well.

Lets get crazy…

To Ott:
Boeser (with extension)
Schenn

To Van:
Norris
Buchnevich

To Stl:
Ott 1st + Perron + prospects
Van 1st + Soucy + Hoglander

Debrusk-Petey-Lekkerimaki
Joshua-Norris-Buchnevich
DOC-Chytil-Garland
Sasson-Blueger-Sherwood

That Joshua Norris Buchnevich line could lowkey be a matchup line to let lines 1 and 3 eat.

Do the Canucks make another mega-deal before the TDL? Not convinced they have the assets left to do much.

About the only guys potentially on the block--other than draft picks--would be Boeser and possibly Soucy. Although Soucy has a full NTC and would have to waive to go anywhere. Forbort might be attractive as a rental on an expiring contract.

But other than Boeser, I doubt the d-men fetch very much. So it's hard to Allvin doing much more than a little 'tinkering' by the March 7th deadline.

repost but we got to petition for the nhl to make the salary cap to move up proportionately depending on a teams home state/province income tax. why do some teams effectively have way larger caps then others? im not sure exactly how it should be structured, like maybe you just get paid a flat amount pre tax and the nhl team covers the taxes. i dont know man but something has to be done

these bull crap southern teams get to rake in the benefits of revenue sharing from teams like us and leafs, then take our money and spend it on players with the incentive of paying little to no taxes sucking up all the ufa's like a greedy vacuum.

Norris is a clear upgrade on Chytil.

For wing, I can see Nyquist. Greenway and Olivier would likely cost more than is reasonable.

They have to put Hoglander back in the top6.

You would trade Lekkerimaki for 1 year of Tuch?

If the assumption is that he gets re-signed, does he take the same discount here as Boeser would? If not, there's very little surplus value gained and a top2 prospect is lost...
I would trade Lek for Tuch yes. But I’m also not pencilling Lek into the NHL roster next year.
