The big win was Pettersson. Tyler Myers’ injury is not long-term, he’ll be back before the playoffs. They will look at forward adds (reportedly Toffoli and Jordan Greenway, who they’ve liked for some time). There’s also a Phil Kessel decision looming. They’ve considered Guentzel — it’s aggressive, but not sure how possible. It hasn’t been an easy start for Elias Lindholm, and another team wondered if there’s any chance the Canucks would flip him, but I don’t sense that’s the plan.

I could see Greenway-for-Mikheyev being a framework. Both players have term and are paid more than their role.

Swapping Mikheyev + something for Toffoli could be shrewd. Toffoli better suited to play top 6 offensive minutes, and frees up cap for next year to re-sign Blueger and Joshua.

The major positive with Toffoli is assuming he works out again, we can all but guarantee he'll sign. He wanted to stay the first time. No reason he wouldn't want to again when we're a much better team.

If we add Greenway I would want the last move up front to be Bjugstad.

If you can't win a series or two with:

EP, JT, Boeser, Lindholm, Garland, Hog, Dak, Suter, Greenway, Bjugstad and Teddy in your forward group then something is seriously wrong.

After that we would need a second pairing D. Would like to see if we can swap Mik + for Gudas

Mikheyev, Aman, and Raty for Greenway and Krebs?

Krebs is another Hoglander type but a C and could be a valuable piece for next season as well since we won’t be able to re sign all our guys.

Canucks also mentioned in the Predators update: "We should get a Tommy Novak extension announcement, which is great for Nashville but bad for several teams that wanted him — including the Rangers and Vancouver."

Damn, was wondering if the Myers injury opened up a possibility of LTIR'ing him for a really big move.

Not to worry. Lots of time for a last minute "setback".

Live view of Allvin and JR getting more cap room.

That's good, that means that will prevent Vegas from doing their bullshit cap circumventing again. So if we play them in the playoffs they won't have another top end player to go against us.

No they’ll still do it because Mark Stone is also on LTIR.

Call Canes and try to see if they will send over somebody for Lindholm. Maybe Bunting? Maybe add an asset and go for Necas? May for futures and flip those for somebody else, but he does not work.
I don’t think Necas is what we need to be honest. We need some Jam or a RHD.

No, and no one would claim him so we’d only free up ~$1M.

We’re also not going to trade Lindholm after 10 games. He should be playing on Pettersson’s wing for an extended period rather than desperately juggling the lines though.
It’s been longer than 10 games, but I agree with more time on Pettersson wing.

See even other teams are calling in Lindholm. It may not be the plan, but if the right thing is offered he is gone.

I hope he sucks right uo until the playoffs,
Signs a 2 year $8m deal and then catches fire.
