Has it been confirmed yet that Friedman meant Elias Pettersson #40 and not Elias Pettersson Defenceman. because that would make more sense to be honest.

To Sabes
D-Petey

To Van
Cozens
Byrman

I would love to see a bigger trade. Something like this maybe:

To Van: Zibanejad, Kakko, pick
To NYR: JT Miller, Hoglander, Desharnais

Cap would be very close. Vancouver basically moves all 3 guys they are having issues with. NYR moves the guys they have concerns with.

I think change of scenery may work out here. Miller should be happy to go back to NY where I could see him have bigger role this time around. Hoglander will add some speed to NYR, which they need. Desharnais can be useful depth now that Trouba is gone.

For Vancouver, Zibanejad will join a nice group of Swedes so he may like that. Kakko could fit in nicely in their top 9 too…
In what fantasy reality would you get a player That’s a top 10 scorer in the last three seasons, built like a truck coming off a monster playoffs making only 8m for that?

I don’t want to be a dick, but my God

Interesting that the smoke seems to be either Miller or Pettersson gets shipped out. I love Miller and Petey but seems untenable at this point. Have to wonder if Miller's personality is too abrasive remember the past rumors about Horvat vs Miller.

A world in which said player has a NMC, can choose where he wants to go, has well-documented anger management issues, has already worn out his welcome two other times, and whose relationship with several current teammates is no longer tenable?

Why would you wanna trade him, who gives a f*** if he’s a pain in the ass if he comes out and performs, that’s all he needs to do.

How about the other players take some accountability.

He’s absolutely loved in Vancouver, and he’s literally the heart and soul of this team, trading him would be an absolute disaster.

And no offense, I’ll trust someone on the team more than some random poster on HF boards about what kind of player he is.

This is Garland literally this morning

That’s a whole lot of speculation without any facts to back it up.
I’ll even go one step further, look at this shit, this makes me sick.

JT Miller stands up for Quinn Hughes, look at the bench, those are the people that need to be held accountable, not the guy protecting the captain of the team.

Canucks traded Bo Horvat for the sole reason of building around Pettersson and Miller down the middle. They arent going to do a full 180 despite what Friedman is trying to clickbait you to believe.

Players that should be worried about being traded though:

Boeser
Hoglander
Silovs
Desharnais
Heinen
Prospects
Draft Picks

You are absolutely right. One of the best players in the league "The best player by far on your team, your captain" is getting mugged and this is the reaction from the bench. There definitely is a problem.

Look at the video when have you seen guys not get up and look at all attached to the play especially when its a scrum involving your captain and best player. Whether or not its Miller vs Petey theres clearly something wrong

Pete doesnt fit the system and its disrupting everyone that bought in. He doesnt have the skills to not be a liability.
We need guys that buy in and understand playoff hockey.

This trade would have to include a extension, which would mean more picks added or a prospect to balance out.

My christmas is locked if we manage to trade him for a top 4 defenseman and top six center.

I believe Garland meant “complements” since he’s being moved onto Miller line. It makes more sense with the rest of what was said too.

I agree that I don’t think his personality/attitude is a problem though.

this is an escalation.

all the pettersson rumours and speculation from friedman last year in retrospect looked a lot like team pressure tactics with friedman acting as a mouthpiece.

so the fact ep40's name is in friedman's mouth in trade speculation tells me the team is not happy with him and wants this kind of media attention to happen. rutherford is one of the most relentless phonecall guys in the league and as such a huge source for friedman not only for a major canadian market team but the entire league. no way friedman would risk offending both the canucks mgmt and pettersson by putting his name out there in the context of a trade without a green light.

so i think either the team thinks rumours like this motivate pettersson or they are counting down to trading him.

The whole JT being a locker room issue thing should’ve died down a long time ago.

Looks like Elliotte trade idea ain't gonna happen.

When the owner says that everyone is safe there probably is going to be a move.

If I'm Rutherford I try to get as many players from Buffalo as possible.
I can't imagine any sabres players wanting to remain there.
Buffalo may have other teams they can deal with. Buffalo can swing a big trade with the Rangers, for example. Adams can send a pile of players to the Rangers in exchange for a bunch of theirs. Throw in a bunch of picks going both ways and you're done.
