A couple of real concerns for #Canucks D. Sedin: 0 even-strength goals in past 10 & only goals vs West this year against EDM

What has happened to Daniels shot...looks weak as **** most of the time lately.

Agreed. Honestly, I'm not sure what he is anymore because he's regressing as a 'sniper'. He's just a 'cycler' at this point in time.

He hasn't looked like a 1st liner this year at all. Hank had a hot start, but has been sluggish since. Danny has looked carried for most of his points.

This is why instead of tearing Luongo a new one, I'm more concerned with the Twins of late. They are the bigger concern. Yes, Lu lost it there, but the twins are not pulling their weight.

I like the idea of splitting them up. Put Daniel with Kesler and Higgins with Hank. Run with that for a few games to give each a different look.

I think Hansen has earned a stint with Richardson on the 3rd line. The Sedins need to be better also. Their passes in the offensive zone used to be automatic but these days they don't seem to be connecting nearly as much. I think part of that is they are skating a notch slower. Luongo needs to pick it up too. He usually has a really solid outing after getting pulled so I would go back to him for Chicago.

I have no idea why Bieksa doesn't get mroe PP time, especially ahead of Hamhuis. Bieksa was a perfectly good PP contributor in the years prior to Ehrhoff.

can you believe we've been watching andrew alberts for five seasons now

and the most memorable thing he's done in that time is mistake the whistle for the puck like a dumb ****ing dog on skates

I didn't watch the game at all, but:

A Alberts +1
Y Weber -3

Your move, Yannick.

Alberts played ok. Made a brutal pass in his own zone in the third but he had just been high-sticked and was having issues seeing so should probably get a pass. Weber just isn't an NHL defensemen at even-strength.

i thought we build from the net out. Was that not what Gillis said... or am i getting confused with Burkie

Should we not accept this is the stage of Sedins' career where their play is going to be inconsistent, rather than worry about that they are inconsistent

Agreed. If Daniel is unable to put the puck in the net, he should be setting up Kesler.

That's actually not a bad idea... if we could trade for a top 6 goal scorer to replace Daniel on the first line this might give us a true 1A, 1B sort of set up

result of poor drafting.

If this team got decimated by injuries in the defense

Just look at the d-core that Pittsburgh can ice with their defense depleted

Brian Dumoulin, Philip Samuelsson, Despres... a couple of them aren't ready yet, you can tell, but you can also see the potential

Can the Canucks even throw a Peter Andersson - Tömmernes pairing out there right now

Why should we accept that? We JUST re-signed them long-term with raises.
