How is the value of a TOP 10RD the same as A Norris winning 90 point Dman thats of the same age??
The funny thing is, management has made no secret of wanting to upgrade the top four since the summer and is the reason they created cap space and have stayed out of LTIRDidn't Seravalli also recently say that a team wanted to add a young skilled center? YEAH, FRANK? Isn't that every team every season?
Same thing here again.
I hate this guy's desperate need for attention. It's childlike, vain and irritating.
Dobson went from a 50 point dman to a 70 point dman while also being better defensively but one season isn't enough of a sample size to commit the assets and resources to get him and then keep him.Hughes is worth more, obviously. I'm not saying he isn't. There also isn't some massive gap in value between Hughes and Dobson whom many see as a top 10 guy. I'd be curious to see Dobson's production on a team that didn't finish tied for 22nd in goals. There's a ton of value with Dobson.
The point was Dobson is a top pairing, point producing RD on a team that doesn't even score. The guy is worth a ton. The asking package from the Islanders would be ballpark close to a Hughes price. You can't trade for a 24 year old top pairing RD and not have the acquisition cost hurt. I mean hurt bad. The base posted would be beaten by most teams in the league without question. It also wouldn't get you Dobson.
Can't give the puck away if you never have it.Ah you misunderstood. The canucks want a Top 4 guy that moves the puck to his own teammates not to players on the other team.
Yup 1st + Wallinder + +Dobson should be available for the right price (a lot).
ooh yes, that is very important in our list of requirements. Good call!Ah you misunderstood. The canucks want a Top 4 guy that moves the puck to his own teammates not to players on the other team.
yamma-hamma!?Dobson would be one of the only realistic players id consider moving Willander for since they are both RHD and Dobson is only 24 yrs old and would fit the age window of Q Hughes and Pettersson. Hronek is signed long term so there is really only 1 RHD core spot available for Canucks.
Id start with:
1st, 2025
2nd 2026
Tom Willander
We have 1 slot left, it's possible, but we'd need a 1st in a package. The 2026 one maybe?50% retention? Seriously, we actually need that.
Hard to see the Cap working easily . . .
Adam Pelech for Soucy, Lekkerimaki and the 2025 2nd? If more money has to come back, make a suggestion.
Adam Pelech is good but he is not enough of a 2way guy to fetch someone like Lekkerimaki.
Soucy also plays a big role for the team as their #1 shutdown Dman. They are most likely looking for a Top 4 Dman to play with Soucy or Myers not to replace them.
Hughes - Hronek
Soucy- xxx
Branstrom/Forbort - Myers
Desharnais
Juulsen
Probably what it would cost but too rich for the Canucks.Willander
Lekkerimaki
