Kudos to Edler for stepping up to Simonds like that and getting pummelled (couldn't really go any other way).

As 0-dog said, players don't intentionally knee other players because it's equally likely they injure their own knee. So it was an accidental dirty hit.

And Edler stepped up and took the beating just to end all it. Honestly, props.

I'm also impressed that Thornton and Simmonds recent antics is a clear sign to the league that they're no longer tolerating even accidental bullshit.
