I didn't realize how close EDM is to us. 7 points behind but 2 games in hand. In their last 9 games they play VAN 5 times, CAL twice and MTL twice which is pretty soft. They're also 7-2-1 in their last 10 games so finishing ahead of them should not be taken for granted. It would suck if they passed us and we had to play WPG instead of MTL.

This trash team has a bunch of Hasek’s in net against us. Beat them like 8-0.

If we get the goaltending we've been getting these past 3 games, we win. If we spot them numerous softies, obviously we lose. That said, do we know who's starting tonight? I'm assuming its Rittich as Andersen probably isn't ready yet.

Literally the biggest annoyance this year is our 3-3-1 record against the fukking Canucks. The only team that we don't have an overwhelmingly winning record against this year.

And sure, that's mostly been goalie effects on both ends of the ice, but it's still just not good enough.

We best be winning both these last 2gms against them. 5-3-1 is still not good enough but it's a little more acceptable.

Yup, I'll be pretty disappointed if they can't win the division because they stagnant in these final games. It would also be a hit mentally for the group IMO. Winning it will do a lot for the team's confidence heading into the playoffs.

Edmonton's record vs remaining Opponents this season is 10-10

If both teams use the same lineups as last night, here's how they compare, with GSVA from theathletic.com:

Playoff momentum building time. Do not take the foot off the gas, for one remaining game. Build swagger and invincibility. Seven games left, let's get on that roll. We won convincingly last night, but this team has another gear still... let's show Vancouver that gear, and crush them.

I think the vets will have everyone focused and playing hard. Still need to win the division. After that start letting some top guys get some rest. I think the boys want to prove a point against the Canucks as well.

I don't think this means much TBH, it's something though I guess. We have to keep winning, can't count on EDM to lose to those crappy teams no matter how they did against them earlier. EDM was pretty bad to start the season but they're a lot better now.

They were far more well rested the last time they played us, it should be more even tonight(despite the back-2-back). :sarcasm:

Whirlwind for Riddich changing teams, this is his settle down game. Expect a strong performance or its shape up or ship out.

Give everyone a rest. I suspect a few drinks were had last night by the guys...I know I had a few.

Hopefully a bunch of Lilijeren, Robertson, Engvall, Noesen and Hutton can get in the lineup

Aren't there still cap implications (and call up limits) that wouldn't allow us to make significant line up changes in the spirit of "resting" guys ?

Definitely sire. That covid team must be beaten this time. We are using all of our powers and strengths. Like y'all better watch Apocalypse now before this gezame sire. The canucks have already given up on the seseason. Ain't even no thang sire. We have players who want to win, also on the personal level (like matthews scesoring like 45 gezoals etc) The outcome of this game ain't nuthin nice. This might be one of those 9-0 games like you already wisely stated sire. Congratulations.

Invest, hard.

We have 3 healthy spares on the roster, any or all of those 3 (Engvall, Robertson, Hutton) could go in without effecting the cap or callup limits. I can't see anyone else getting called up and put in.

I think it would be good to give at least one of Thornton/Simmonds/Spezza the night off, also wouldn't be a bad idea to give Muzzin a break.
