Cope? You sound kind of triggered and i don't get why. Just because you are fair it does not mean that most fans are when it comes to their favourite team.
"Triggered", very astute logic there. Seems to be some self projecting there.
Majority of the users (not all ofc) on this board have been pretty fair when it comes to criticizing Canuck players when ever they either do something dirty, were being whiny or did something cheap. There's no fandom that is more hard on their players than Canucks fans are. I have been observing these boards for a long time.

That’s a 3 D dtw

Why in earth what you even spend time of your own accord visiting the Oilers board of all boards? Yikes.

While they are similar attitudes in the examples you laid out, the fact is the other fanbase is far more rigorous to this type of vitriolic biased bullshit behavior, they take it to an extreme level of homerism and bias especially these past few years after some play-off success. We can acknowledge this as much, and call them out for being braindead. Can you comprehend that?

MS's reaction to their GDT is very appropriate.
Heck not even just their GDTS but they spread their filth on the main boards.

McDavid would rightfully be called out for what he did tonight, if he was part of this team while the other boards would instead turn a blind eye and defend him. There's a difference.

Several posters have already stated Myers should be suspended for the face shot on Bouchard as well.

Because after a win like this, I love going through their thread reading their reaction from confident pregame posts to reading their deflated and/or angry responses. I did that recently after the Leafs game too. I guess you can call that schadenfreude. It was quite fun during the playoffs. Admittedly, I only did it on the games the Canucks won.

Fair enough, you should check out the main board GDTS as well. They are good for a laugh. A lot of salty Coiler fans making excuses after every loss for our own amusement kek.

Can't sleep woke up to this beautiful thread it certainly helps. Great game last night and hopefully one that pulls team together. Miller was a beast last night hopefully EP and Miller can make it work because we have the talent to succeed just need to fix the D. However if this is it for Miller's time here he going out in style and will be dearly missed !

I will not be popular but then I don't care about "likes".

The Canucks won, the 2 points were vital to stay close to the WC2 spot.
They held the Oilers to 15 shots, that was really good.
Now the unpopular part;

I watched the game twice looking to collaboration of some comments, just saying.
Garland was really smart to take out McDavid like that, a big trade off at that time
BUT
Overall the reffing was definitely for the home team, this isn't anything the Canucks have not been on the receiving end a few times.
I counted at least 5 flagrant and obvious penalties not called. Boeser, Pettersson, Garland all had very obvious interference, tripping or unsportsmanlike penalties not called. Two of which led directly to goals.
In truth, I was embarrassed by Garlands tactics, I understand them but this isnt' the first time McD has had a Canuck give him a bear hug and hold him with both arms around him when he doesn't have the puck.
Another thought came to me, Hughes better watch out next game because if that tactic works for the Canucks it might work to the Oilers in their barn.
No fighting so retaliation might come in the form of harassment of Canucks stars by 4th liners and they have last change next game.
The Myers cross check was baffling, the whistle had already been blown and he hit Bouchard with a heavy check into the boards, evidently he was getting a penalty for that but the cross check? Really out of character. Maybe desperation to take out the best players just in case they had enough time to set up for a shot.

Garland doesn't stick up for himself, someone else gets to pay his bill.

It could be the entire team knows or thinks that was Miller's last game and wanted desperately to have him go out on a win.

It was two points, that's the biggest stat

Whatever

Was wondering myself if there is belief in the organization again this morning that a trade isn't necessary anymore.

“There’s a rivalry and Connor gets frustrated, Connor gets his stick up, and he’s frustrated because we’re down one goal, and the best player in the league is getting held for 15 seconds,” said Knoblauch.

LMAO EVEN KNOBLAUCH AND MCBITCH KNOW THE BOUCHARD NONCALL ON PETEY WAS BULLSHIT 🤣🤣🤣🤣

:sarcasm:

They've really made a mess of things when it's hard to even enjoy wins like this one since, a) they will probably suck again next game, and b) they were inches away from scratching one of their best players in said game in order to trade him.

Gotta love a win against Edmonton.

McJesus has to get a game or two for that crosscheck, but I guess that means Myers does as well. Say what you will about the Chaos Giraffe, he is a very important part of the defense we have and when he's playing well, he's tough to play against. Would D-Petey be a potential short term replacement? Not sure if he plays RD or LD.

Turning into Mahomes the way they are complaining.

Garland and McD's tangle didn't started with Garland. McD was literally on top of Garland for 5-6 seconds, Garland finally got up and happily returned the favor.

As for Hughes watch out or whatever, well in last playoffs McDavid basically speared Hughes in the face and got away with it. Other teams are already pulling all kinds of shit against our guys because they know the response will be pathetic, and our powerplay is laughable, so there's very little incentive not to.

Wrong. A lot of us tend to be fair when it comes to Hughes. If he gets hit cleanly, not many on this board will call it dirty or insult said player.

The difference is McDavid has a history of doing this dirty shit on our players regularly and hence rightfully gets called out on it.

If we had McDavid, I'd would certainly call him out on his BS. Did it for Miller and Petey in the past, and in case you don't know, other users have done the same.

There were a lot of people that called out Cooke on his BS., and Cooke wasn't as popular as you think he was. Neither was Brashear for that matter and both played lengthy on the Canucks.

You can cope as much as you want, but facts are facts.

If it was just the endless embellishment or just the working of the refs with McDavid it would be one thing.

The bigger issue is that he's turned into one of the dirtiest players in the NHL and is just completely protected for it.

In the playoffs last year it was just a regular thing that McDavid would be the guy instigating scrums after whistles and then hiding behind refs as soon as he might have to answer for it. Tons of stick work. Elbows. Suspension-worthy head shots now in back-to-back games.

The league basically reaped what they sowed here when they sent the message last year that McDavid could throw a tantrum and start sticking guys at the end of the game and he would be totally protected and the guys he was sticking would get suspended. He knows he can basically just do whatever he wants and he'll never have to answer for it.

You can already see today his coach and a lot of talking heads feel that way. Basically saying talented guy is getting interfered with? Seems like he’s justified in cross checking someone in the face. Which is, of course, horse shit, and another symptom of NHL “game management” rather than actually calling the rule book.

Imagine if it was the other way around. Garland would be sent to Siberia.

My take on it was McDavid completely interfered with Garland first, resulting in them both going down. He held Garland down for a couple of seconds, then Garland got up and returned the favour. That, IMO, was why no call was forthcoming to anyone at that point - because they were both doing the same thing.

Then McDavid cross checks Garland in the face, and Myers (for some reason?!) cross checks Bouchard in the face.
