Can this thread maybe not be another JT Miller thread, there is already one. Everybody gets it, no sense in rehashing everything here.

If the Canucks are looking at acquiring Kravstov, without dealing Miller, what type of return are the Rangers looking for?

We don't have much in the way of rentals:
Motte- Excellent bottom 6 winger, he has value
Chiasson- depth, better than he is given credit for, but not much value
Hunt- Meh
Halak- Quality backup

Cheap deals expiring next year:
Schenn
Burroughs
Both very good bottom pair D
The ghost of Travis Hamonic

Young players
Hoglander- has struggled this year agfter an excellent Rookie year. Doesn't seem to be a favorite of BB.
Lot's of C level prospects.

Not sure what Kravstov's value would be on his own, but probably not a lot here to choose from

What has happened to this guy?

He had Kovalev-esque comparison to him his draft year.

I know immaturity played a part in his lack of development but overall how are his skill set?
Kravstov's issues stem from his immaturity, not skill. He's got legit top-6 talent, but threw a hissy fit when the Rangers didn't guarantee him top-6 minutes coming out of camp because they're stacked at LW with Panarin, Kreider, and Lafreniere. They wanted to send him down to the A to get top-line minutes rather than giving him <10 min a night in the NHL. Even told him that he'd be the first call as soon as there was need (which there was within the first couple weeks of the season).

But instead of accepting it, he refused to report and was loaned back to the KHL. He's been really good over there ever since, a key forward on the top overall team, so it's clear that he can contribute when he wants to. At this point it seems like the relationship with Rangers management is the biggest thing preventing him from succeeding, so a change of scenery and a chance to play top line minutes should do wonders for him.

I would bring him back and tell him, after his KHL season ends, he's playing with Goody and Fil. See what happens. Maybe he boosts value and you let bygones be bygones or move him in Summer.

I'd do Kravtsov for Hoglander *ducks*.

In an ideal world yours would be the best path to take, but after two incidents in the last few years, I just fear that the bridges have been burnt at this point.

Miller fetched the canucks 1st plus a third when he got traded a few years ago. theres no way his value isn't north of that significantly.

3 1st's? No. Blue chip prospect + late first + sweetener? Likely.

Dont like Kravstov as the centrepiece of the miller deal, but probably too valuable to be the "sweetener".

Dont really think the canucks have other players outside of the core that could move the needle for the rags enough to land kravstov.

Dont like the idea.
