With a team that went from winning the division to likely missing the playoffs, nothing is certain

Plenty of teams underachieve. If you have 4 all star caliber players signed long term at 1C, 2C, 1D, and GK, there are dozens of things you would try before you move one of those guys — especially at a loss.

I’m 99.9 percent confident demko and Hughes will both be Canucks next year. I’d give it a 50/50 chance that both Miller and EP will be.

The fact that you’re outwardly denying the rumors but yet you refuse to put a % on them both returning suggests you’re already hedging your bets because deep down, you know there’s a good chance that where there’s smoke, there’s fire.

It’s the same management group that traded Horvat and shocked people. Im not denying anything, I just want some actual facts instead of trying to decipher some here-say and reading between the lines to make assumptions

If Canucks want a longer chance to be competitive they trade JT, if they move EP, why bother signing him last march when he was in a funk…this kind of falls on the GM but he hasn’t been called out for it.

Fix the team or as Penguin fans mentioned…good luck with trader Jim running the team!

Last year was a prime example of them paying a premium at the TDL with a team that was trending to go back to playoffs on multiple Canuck player career years and minimal injuries…

This is Not the year to make a shit…play the year out and trade the player that is the issue inside the dressing room.

Move on & hope for the best, in managaement I do Not trust…

Miller and Pettersson being polar opposites as players and as humans and their inability to adapt to each other shows a lack of maturity on both sides. Tocchet needs to have a talk with both. Miller should chill the **** out and Pettersson should implement some of Garland's **** you in your face attitude/vibes even though he's not the biggest. If both can meet in the middle it could be an incredible duo. Until then the team will be a toxic cesspool.

Bottom line is they both wear A,s on their jerseys..Supposedly leaders on this team.
If they can't show that they can't get along.
remove those A,s

I’m taking the word of the Canucks beat reporters who have sources within the team:

Naturally, the Canucks’ announcement left room for plenty of speculation, which is why it was great to see that The Province’s Patrick Johnston was quickly able to provide some answers. Here’s what Johnston reported in a post on the social media platform BlueSky:

Shortly thereafter, Rick Dhaliwal of Donnie and Dhali — The Team reported the same, saying that Miller’s absence is “about a player who needs a re-set. Needs time and space.”

None of those quotes preclude personal issues. (Edit: like a divorce or distracting family illness.)

Yup, you can clearly see some posters who focus directly at belittling anything they see as their primary focus. I agree, Canucks might be after a different return but that offer is not trash or some meh offer.

Words of choice is key. Way too many posters quick to use words like Trash, Ridiculous, Horrible, etc. It's a culture of making fun of anything you can find for some posters and that part is the real trash on these boards.

No doubt in my mind that Dach, Newhook, and Matheson keep the Canucks competitive and then you see some posters completely ignore that there is two 1st rounders on top. 1st rounders that are not back of the bus too. Very strange
you’ve made 10 posts saying you’re not going to respond and then writing 3 paragraphs. it should never be that hard to log off 👍🏽

Eh, Dach reaches misfit status if he gets traded. 3rd OA pick who would have been on his 3rd team since the 2019 draft

He's taking long to reach his prime for sure but there is still lots of potential in that big frame. Misfit is not the right word of choice and it's 3 quality NHL players with two 1sts on top. 1st rounders that is very far from back of the bus as well. It's a package offer for sure and the Canucks can say no but fans pretending that offer is crap are reaching to belittle.

People Misunderstand the issue with Pettersson. There is no Miller VS Petterson that is causing an irreparable situation.

This is a Canucks Brass vs Petterson issue. It started very early preseason and during the previous season where Tocchet criticized Peteys practice habits and commitment to improving off the ice.

Throughout this year I think they realized how fragile Petey was mentally and completely stepped away from criticizing him. Tocchet has been honest and fair criticizing every player on the roster by name at some point this year except Petey and continuously stops himself in post games when it seems blatantly obvious he wants to say something.

My take from Allvins statement is that their various approaches the Canucks have taken with Petterson to take his off ice improvement more seriously have failed and this is just another tactic to pressure him to get with the program.

Personally I find this really sad because one thing I loved about Petey was his seeming desperation to win at all costs. His unwillingness to take a team friendly discount to make this more of a reality and now this continued criticism of his off ice commitments has tainted my views. When paired with his disappearance in last years playoffs when the stars aligned for the Canucks leaves me apathetic at best to this "superstar".

Pretty sure every team will have players that don’t get along. They can almost always hide it and keep it behind closed doors though. It’s concerning that things have gotten this bad publicly as this is probably like an iceberg; for everything we see and hear there is a lot more under the surface

There’s only one reason I can think of why a professional athlete would refuse to play because of a teammate.

I just can’t believe Miller is sitting because he just does t like Petterson. They’re making too much money to be acting like middle schoolers. Either Petterson did something very bad to Miller or Miller’s issues have nothing to do with Petterson.

Why not just lock EP and Miller in a room so they can deal with whatever problem they got and they don't come out til they resolve it? The team is more important than this buffoonery.

Is there any deal that could be based around futures?

I would do this for EP but I doubt it's acceptable for Vancouver? Not sure.

Cozens and Byram is the best one I have seen so far. Byram is a legit top 4 and could even reach top 2 potential.

Something Vancouver desperately needs.
Buffalo is not giving up Byrum. It’s looking like a good trade for our embattled GM.

Cozens, Samuelson and a top prospect like Isaac Rosen who’s ready for the NHL. Salary in and out is a factor for Buffalo.
