Not really as I didn’t include picks and didn’t go with just kids.Your values are all over the place, these are wildly different offers.

Who’s asking for a haul here? Nash returned a 4 piece package including two young NHL’ers, a 1st and a prospect. Similar to the Eichel trade really.Even during the years where the cap was pretty consistently rising before the pandemic, you didn't see that many players making that percentage of the cap getting traded for a haul. Subban got Weber. Kessel got Kapanen and a 1st at a less percentage to the cap. Nash got a 1st. Pettersson will likely be in a similar boat.
If you believe the rumours, Sabres have already inquired about Pettersson. You ask why Buffalo might not have interest in acquiring Pettersson but there's many reasons why that include the contract, the player, and the asking price which may not make sense for them given their place in the standings.
Yes some players do decline earlier but almost every player reclines in their mid 30’s and EK is proving to be no exception.Less term equals less risk in far more instances than not in this context. Some players decline earlier than others for many different reasons. Pettersson could just not be happy in Vancouver and could end up being just as unhappy being shipped to a place like Buffalo. Just ask Huberdeau how that might go.
Canucks and Sabres fans have had many back and forth regarding Pettersson and there were very few posters that looked negatively on that swap. I don’t need to twist the truth to prove anything to you.I'm also not deciding shit. There hasn't been many Sabres fans saying that either. You just want that to be the case to help you in this but it's not actually the case and it wouldn't matter even if it did. Fans aren't managers so it doesn't matter what any of us think on these sorts of things.
So you think Matheson/Suzuki is simliar in value to Skjei/ L'Heurex? Not really as I didn’t include picks and didn’t go with just kids.
I’d expect a 1st to be added from Nashville but Skjei is pretty damn good. Replace L’Heureux with a different ELC if you like.So you think Matheson/Suzuki is simliar in value to Skjei/ L'Heurex?
Miller has a full NMC for the next few years, he's already come out and said he's not going anywhere.
You are. That four piece package included nobody that ended up being anything like what you're asking for. The Sabres inquiring can be as simple as doing your due diligence and confirming that what they're asking of you doesn't make sense for you to do so it could be true and still not mean anything. EK's decline doesn't really have anything to do with the concerns that come with anyone trying to acquire Pettersson. He does have a decline risk associated with him and he does have the risk that he may not play with all his heart in certain places. And like I said about the fans, it does not have a shred of relevancy to the topic. Just because they may believe something doesn't mean the team does.Who’s asking for a haul here? Lol Pettersson is our 2C. How is that a position of weakness? They are trading from a position of weakness.
Yeah Rangers get softer, brilliant. That might be a pretty good trade for both teams
It’s a bit odd, no?. A year ago, along with Hughes, Pettersson was the future in Vancouver. A GM equivocating on whether their young, recently signed long-term, star, cornerstone player, might be traded, is not typical.I didn’t see anything in the OP GM quotes that suggests he’s actually going to get traded. I highly doubt he is. “Anything is possible” goes for every player in the league.
I’ve literally said that the Eichel package would be the closest comparable. Young NHL’er, 1st, prospect and a 2nd. If that’s a “haul”, ok then. You are. That four piece package included nobody that ended up being anything like what you're asking for.
Agreed 100% with your last bit here. Just like what you’re arguing means nothing, it’s opinion. This conversation has basically come full circle and hasn’t accomplished anything. The Sabres inquiring can be as simple as doing your due diligence and confirming that what they're asking of you doesn't make sense for you to do so it could be true and still not mean anything. He doesn’t say he might be traded. He was asked if EP could be traded and his response was, “anything was possible” if there was no improvement and the situation seemed hopeless. When asked if an EP trade could be done with that contract he said he had faith in his gm.It’s a bit odd, no?. A year ago, along with Hughes, Pettersson was the future in Vancouver. That is close from a Buffalo perspective.Detroit - Seider
Buffalo - Cozens + Byram
Montreal - Suzuki + Matheson
Anaheim - McTavish + Mintyukov + dumps
Nashville - Skjei + L’Heureux + Scissons

I think he’s just lighting a fire under the player. When the talking heads are saying “I have confirmation teams X and Y have made offers, I’ve heard the player is on the block for sure” then I’d be fine with 14 pages of pure fan driven speculation but right not that’s all it is. Fans whose baseline is to be bored and wanting a big trade five minutes after a big trade happens are going bananas because they’ve been fed click bait.
The last thing in world Buffalo needs is more prospects. They're too young already. They need to trade prospects for NHL players. Half the team at the NHL level and AHL level are prospects.Because they could get better value from two teams versus one. Like if one team had better D prospect and the other had a better forward prospect, you could select one from each team and benefit Buffalo. Each team would give up less, in terms of quantity, but Buffalo would reap the reward of having higher end prospects instead of filling up on lower end prospects/picks.
Your values are all over the place, these are wildly different offers.
What if Buffalo doesn’t see Cozens as a true top 6 C? Have seen some Sabres fans say he’s better suited on the wingBuffalo would be making a pretty huge mistake to jump at such a deal when the likelihood of anyone having a 2C and a top four D available is slim for Pettersson. And Byram is their #2 right now. No chance Vancouver gets that sort of deal for Pettersson.
You know every NHL team plays at least 1 game a year in Vancouver, right? Or are you suggest he's being traded back to Sweden or the Canucks are going to have him offed?Yup. He's done in Vancouver. I'll honestly be impressed if he ever touches Rogers Arena ice again.
In what world would you add to a top 3 D for a top 30 C? LmfaoPetterson for Fox+?
Of course the Sabres would give up two such pieces. They list their 1C when Eichel was forced out of town. They need a star 1C. These guys don’t grow on trees. If EP40 is available the Sabres would give up a lot as would all clubs looking for a 1C. Vegas got the Cup because they got Eichel.Buffalo wouldn't be giving up Byram and Cozens for EP. Its one or the other plus prospect/picks
