You'd think it would make more sense to acquire picks and draft your own young talent than to trade picks and players for young talent that hasn't panned out elsewhere when trying to revamp your roster.

I think they are acquiring picks that have panned out like Hronek while getting picks that haven't planned out for Kravatsov for free.
