Been here since 2000 when this site opened up. Been a fan since 91 son.

When your franchise can't win a single series last 18 years you are not in a position to call any other franchise trash

Maybe you should read up the entire thread. The original poster called Vancouver a trash franchise

Last I checked Vancouver went to the Stanly Cup finals 2011 while we are still rebuilding

Since 2015, all Canadian teams have been able to make a 2nd round appearance at least once except Toronto.

1st goal bordering on interference, but to close to contest

2nd goal the puck rolls up and over Mrazek, Muzzin pushes his check hoping to move him past the net, but not knowing where the puck is, the push gives the Canuck the opportunity to tap in the loose puck

Demko 2 posts and the very top edge of his blocker was the difference.

The deserve to win o meter says the Leafs win this game 81% of the time .. matches the eye test

I mean there's something to be said about scoring effects and how the game would have play out if the Leafs tied it in the third, especially earlier on. But the evidence suggests they should have at least been able to get this to OT.
 
3rd goal was actually JT and Rielly's fault. Easy to see if you watch the highlights. JT bad pass, then Brodie takes the player with the puck and Rielly doesn't adjust, takes the same man. Everything goes to shit after that.

Mrazek had no chance there. That was a perfect shot for rebound followed by a net crash neither JT or Rielly tracked. We could have got that rebound or tied up the stick, but we played bad defence after JT's pass instead.

This is facts. The highlights are online to easily verify this. Where is Mrazek supposed to kick it? By the time Rielly and JT wake up, it's a 2 on 0 down low for the Canucks. There's literally no where for Mrazek to kick it that isn't a goal.

Very true... I think it needs to be reiterated how tricky it is to control that rebound. It was definitely a shot-pass intended to get a rebound. Rielly was just watching the puck and not his man.

You mean Demko with 51 saves and .962 sv% vs Mrazek 21 saves and .875 sv%.

Vancouver has been a mess since the Sedins faded and their Stanley Cup window closed thanks to Benning. Calling them trash is a bit harsh but calling our first class organization trash is just wrong. Believe me, I'm just as frustrated as you are with our lack of playoff success but we have a truly exciting team with great skill. The way they dominate most nights is something that we're kind of taking for granted. We're spoiled with how good this team really is.

We have holes, and it's management's job to fill those holes. We as fans can debate on how we can fill them, but the core of the team is very talented. Dubas has tried to address some of those holes by trading for Foligno and signing Ritchie, supposed gritty players. They weren't the answer, but he did try. He's going to have to find a scoring winger, a tough dman, and solid goalie. Tough to find, but we're closer than the majority of other teams to a Stanley Cup.

Mrazek was absolute dog shit. We should have won by 5 goals to be quite honest, that's how badly they were dominated. ALL 3 goals were 100% on him.

I don't know how we didn't get a PP in the third. Lots of blatant penalties. Holl was tripped behind our net, Nylander on the partial break, on the Tavares penalty he got slashed before his stick came up. They were completely dominated that game, especially in the third, confused how we didnt draw a penalty.

Demko played out of this world.

Not upset with the effort at all, I thought we were 1000x better than them in every position except goaltending. It's a scary situation right now, both goalies have been really bad.

Mrazek is just being a good team mate by saying that. He knows he's left out to dry here with no where to kick it to that doesn't result in a goal. This is just a still. The Canucks skaters are moving and can get the puck any where that's realistic for him to kick it to.

I will say his aggressive positioning hurt him here since he could laterally recover .. but I guess that's where you trust your defense to come to your aid

We were what 2/3 on the PP. If our powerplay wasn't clicking so much we'd probably get more calls go our way. Game management.
