Vally's data has nothing to do with the goalies in net. It's all based off the types of shots, screens, and pre-puck movement before those shots happen, i.e., a pass across the slot leading to a shot from the right circle will typically be graded as a better scoring chance than a shot from the right circle without that type of pass. Public models don't account for that.
They played lazy last night, but there were stretches where they essentially were globetrotting with the puck in the offensive zone, and Vancouver simply didn't have answers for it. Vancouver was definitely tenacious backchecking and tying to cycle in the offensive zone, but they really didn't get too many great chances down low around Igor. I don't think it'll be an issue going forward for the Rangers because we just saw them play very structured games against Carolina and Calgary
