For how long? Like already mentioned, if the game plan is to let Carolina shoot their shot(s) and then take advantage on the counterattack, it's hard to argue that doesn't work.

At this point teams are getting wise to the system and while there's nights it still works, it's getting dismantled slowly but surely with each passing year.

Its not hard to argue. Thus has been the MO for Rods entire time here and the Canes have won the 3rd most games in the league while doing it. It works pretty damn well.

Also don't think you will find a single person here that would argue the goal tending hand been up to par this year.

And yet right on pace with last years record setting season and 2nd in the Metro

How so? We are just as successful as we were year 2

We don't have any lethal scoring threats. For every game Aho has a 3 point night he goes invisible for stretches. Svech is still playing after injury but he's had a horrible 2023 calendar year. Necas is making it easy to move off him this summer.

The plan seems to be shoot everything, using up energy, then a breakdown occurs and because our goalies see little action it's like the mind plays tricks on them and they don't know how to react to a shot against.

Strategies don't last forever, eventually cracks in the foundation form. Seems to me that's what happening now.

Has it been the MO for Rods entire tenure as HC?

I thought during his first few seasons they employed a more balanced attack. It really seems like the skill guys played a little more of a transition, skill type game. Now they’re a top 1-3 dump in team in the league.

So how does any of this say other teams are figuring out how to beat our system? That just sounds like a lot of reasons why we aren’t perfect(no team is)

They know that we don't have lethal scoring threats. Our guys play a system that's more team-oriented than one that allows for instinctive creativity. Which is what it is but when it's not on like now it appears easier for the opposition to clamp down and let our guys tire themselves out knowing a mistake will be made, and since our goalies sometimes see like 1 shot a period it's easier to fool the netminder. Then our guys get negative body energy and the opposition starts making our guys frustrated, sometimes into taking stupid penalties.

Right now, I'm not impressed with this team. We've got way too many guys MIA on offense, the blue-line isn't the strong-suit it was, the goaltending hasn't been good.
