He's a good fit on the team. He's like Martinook in that he can play up the lineup a bit at times but he's also an excellent fit on the third and fourth lines. Even with his lack of recent production, you still see him do little things to help the team all the time. I think he's still making some smart plays with his speed an tenacity offensively, just he's not on an unsustainably hot line right now.

Yeah, he's similar to Martinook in that he's a good fit and any numbers he puts up is a nice bonus. But like Martinook, we've got to be careful about not overpaying him
Also, while those kinds of players are great to have, you can't make an entire team out of them...at some point you NEED the guys who put up the big points and truly belong in the top-6, and to leave room in the bottom-six to help new/young players acclimate to the NHL game in a more sheltered role

I'm all for extending Robinson. We all expected the offensive numbers to go back to the mean, and they have, but his speed and PK has been valuable regardless of any hot streak. The thing is that if a younger player proves that he can stick in a bottom-six role long-term, players like Robinson/Carrier/Martinook will all be on easily-tradeable contracts. As of now, all three are much better than our farm guys, and we are in a contending context where those sort of depth improvements matter.

100% this. If Robinson wants a lil pay increase, he's worth it. I think $1.5M is a fair number for both parties. If he wants much more, no thanks.

From what I've seen, Jordan Martinook is a decent bit more impactful than Robinson. Robinson is great, but a lot of it is right-place-right-time and simple plays. Marty plays a heavier game and is more robust defensively. All that to say Jordan Martinook is underpaid at his $3.05M, whereas Robinson would be overpaid at that caphit.

Are there any stories pointing to him having leadership skills? What type of teammate is he?

I think he's been a good story but I'm not sure I want to see him blocking someone like FUS, Suzuki, or Nadeau if they're ready next year.
