Carolina Hurricanes pick Brock McGinn has epic shot-blocking shift

There are a lot of goalies who probably don't like handling rocket shots from the Erie Otters' Dane Fox, who already has 51 goals this season, the most in major junior hockey by a fair margin.

The reason Fox is standing on 51 is because of the intestinal fortitude that the Guelph Storm's Brock McGinn, a Carolina Hurricanes draft pick and high scorer in his own right, displayed during a game last weekend.

During a power play in Guelph's eventual 1-0 win in the matchup between the Ontario Hockey League's top two teams, McGinn got a limb in the way of two of Fox's shots from the point. He was staggered by the impact, but the way McGinn was flailing and flopping despite his evident discomfort, well, all you can say is there's someone going to the wall for his teammates in a game that could be vital in the final standings.

Buffalo has 89 goals this year. Eighty Nine. Khudobin has looked gassed lately, and won, though wasn't himself against Philadelphia, last night. They play again Saturday afternoon against a tougher team. If you're not going to start Peters now, then you may as well never do it again.

I think that's the plan.

That goes for trade value, too. Whenever Ward gets healthy, you may as well waive him. Who's going to want a player that the coach is afraid to play in these situations?
