I saw someone on Facebook calling our 1st line the Chri-St-Mats line because of all the beautiful gifts it brings

That line... again..
Question is what happens when Callly (Nash) is ready to go.
As of right now it seems like it would be a huge mistake to even consider breaking up that line.
Awesome game, Hags were on fire
You can see that the slow skaters with limited mobility are slowly being phased out. Speed kills. Speed an tenacity along with crisp passing are key for Vignault's puck possession game. Hagelin is the perfect player for this scheme. Not surprised to see him doing so well after coming back from injury. Zuccarello is fighting for his NHL career this season. AV has given him a chance, and he's been grabbing it with the exception of one stinker in the West. Stepan is heating up, watch out. Pyatt should be a spare once Callahan is back. Keep Miller on the third line.
With my first sentence in mind, I don't think Girardi will be a Ranger next season. I love the guy and he's a big time minute eater, but I don't think he has the puck mobility skills AV asks for from the back end. I just don't want to lose him for nothing if he's going to be the odd man out.
good points. speed and skating matters.
girardi would look nice packaged to edmonton. that team is a mess defensively and looking to make changes. they are stocked with young offensive players. they dont need another forward. problem is will he sign there if hes moved ?
i would certainly offer up a package of mdz and girardi and see what happens. yakupov would look good on broadway.
last nights game on paper looks like a cakewalk and after that ugly first period, it pretty much was.
but they starteds slow again and really didnt show much for the first 15 mins. they looked clueless coming out of their zone.
while i am happy with the 2 points and 5 goals, this team still has issues. we need to get healthy and add one more dynamic scorer/skater and a rhd.
lets see what the next few games brings.
I agree for sure, because right now I actually don't think either of the three is really playing that great, but they all have perfect roles. Kreider get the puck to Zucc (he is like a sweaping defensive midfielder in Soccer, a Gennaro Gattuso who just feeds Pirlo), Zucc just threads passes and Stepan/Kreider/Ds puts them on net.
Its a bit tricky to put together the other lines though. Keeping Hags with Richards seems like a pretty good idea, BR can really utilize his speed. Then you gotta recon that Nash slides in next to them, although I am not overly found of Nash with BR. Then you have like Pouliot/Boyle-Brass-Cally left, how would that line work? OTOH I really liked the notion of two centers with Nash.

Though it worries me that we've been playing against bad teams. The Isles are average and we won that one in a close 3-2 game that only saw a definitive go-ahead goal with 6 minutes left. Buffalo is the worst team in the league by a mile. Buffalo is worse than Edmonton from seasons past and we played against an AHL goalie tonight and against a team that has lost 4 in a row and a mediocre defense and average offense outside their top line. Our losses to start the year are not as bad considering PHX, LAK, SJS, ANA, STL are essentially all in the top 10 teams in the league right now. Last few games from WSH, PHI, NDJ to MTL and the last few games, the competition has been a lot softer.
We'll see what happens on Monday.

AV has been a big part of this team's recent success. Everyone ran to attack him after the slow start but haven't given him the credit he deserves for getting this team back to basics.
I agree although Carolina was a despertae team so you had ato figure at some point in teh game they would really bring it. It wasnt the start we wanted but the important thing is that our defense and goaltending is back to normal. I know the ducks are good but we are a entirely different team than the last time we played. Our speed is gonna cause them a lot of troubleI think it's safe to say that if they play the way they did at the start of this game against Anaheim and Pittsburgh they are going to be in trouble. Gotta bring it.

Of course they need to bring it since the competition is harder. However i think with hagelin coming back, the line of zucc/step/kreids/ and hank playing back to normal we can win this one as logn as we play like we have beenI think a desperate Carolina is pretty equal to a regular Anaheim/Pittsburgh. Gotta have a good start here. Gotta play their ***** off and really want it.

They are NEVER trading away 2 of our top six d-men in season. That is beyond ludicrous to even think that.
BTW, Hags is creating chances every shift. I think if you put him with Nash the guy can produce a 50 point season. The guy's forecheck and speed creates great opportunities and his skills are underrated. The guy can pass the puck pretty well.
