GDT: CANES AT CATS

Downside of getting a win until Game 4 is the impact to ticket sales.

Wow, at number of original and resales available for Game 5.
I wouldn't pay for that. Maybe 50 a seat but no more. A game 7 after 3 in a row? Ok sure. But I'm not paying 300 plus to see us get eliminated.

They should give seats away as a mea culpa for all those who got shafted by the team faceplanting in 1 and 2

Yup, now I'll have fun hyping up our Very Plausible Miracle Run becuase why the frak not? It's fun to be ridiculous and come up with bonkers superstitions.

Plus, the more playoff games I get to watch the better, and the curse is at least broken for future iterations.

Curse ded. Long Live Canes.
You know what's f***ed up? I wear a worn out, filthy canes hat every day. Its faded. Filthy and just wore out.

I washed it for the first time Sunday.

If our boys win game 5 👀

Realistically, Florida probably wins game 6 if that's the case but it would be cool to go out with one more home win for us.
Absolutely realistic expectation, that i share.

But... guess what i spoke to the darkness, alone, in the bitter watches of the night? "Man, if they manage to win game 5 florida's really going to be gripping those sticks tight af. Especially after last year's final. If they somehow get to game 7 it'll be a madhouse not seen since 2006..."

Lol. No. Not going to do it to myself.

Narrarator: he had already done it to himself.

I don't even care if they win game 5. I mean I obviously do, and I agree they owe the fans that, but I'm not putting anymore expectations on this team this year. They did what everyone said they couldn't do and that's avoid getting swept and not only did they win, they did so with a shutout. The TNT talking heads looked genuinely happy for them last night and said this is the first time they've seen Hurricanes hockey in the ECF. I couldn't agree more. I hope we get more of it but if we don't, it's still a job well done.

lol buddy made himself a business decision to back off trying to start shit with Nikishin

I have seen a guy being held back by his buddies making a show of struggling but actually not struggling quite so hard as to actually get loose... but I have never seen a man moonwalk to stay put while giving the appearance of walking towards the would-be foeman.

Talking heads perhaps want a longer series for air time.

However, it sure didn't seem that way from the announcing team. When we watched the game last night my wife said those guys at the end seemed depressed announcing that the Canes won.

Albert's been fine. Edzo has shown himself to be completely incapable of calling our games with anything even remotely resembling neutrality since Ricky was shit canned when Dundon bought the team.

Season is now a success, we got the ECF monkey off our back which is HUGE! I have 0% expectations of a huge comeback in the series, but it'd be nice if they came home and made up for the stinker shit shows that were G1/G2...a win would be great, but at least having a competitive game where they pot 3-4 goals. The team owes their home crowd a good effort after letting the entire hockey world down to start the series.

Morrow definitely has a lot left to learn and needs major work on his defensive game, absolutely no reason he should be on the NHL roster next year, he needs more time in the AHL and he needs to focus on that defensive work. Nikishin on the other hand, dude seems a natural talent, I'm excited to see him full-time next year.
I see Morrow back in the AHL till he simplifies his game. injuries will happen and he will either get called up for a cup of coffee or be bypassed for someone to send the message and someone else comes up. Morrow will learn real quick at that point. Nikishin is miles ahead of him, hell hes better than some who have been on the Canes roster all year.

Rod has internalized the message. Nikishin played 18 minutes last night and Morrow played 8 (including only 2 shifts in the third period, one at the very start and another after the ENGs).

Nikishin is officially in the “in crowd” when it comes to shortening the D bench. In fact, he played more than Ghost too.
Its what the analytics show too.
