He has really rounded out his game and settled in here. I hated it at the time but the 1st we traded for him was easily worth it. Rags would probably like a re-do.

I would say it was a good little trade for both teams. Rangers had K'Andre Miller waiting in the wings and they knew that the bill was soon to come for Adam Fox two seasons afterward. So it made sense from a long-term cap perspective to trade Skjei eventually. It turns out, though, that the Rangers sold too low and could've waited for a rebound before, but that's water under the bridge now.

Many especially hated it when he botched a play leading directly to a goal on like his first shift...but he was also playing on his off-side so was hard to blame him too much. He's not elite at offense or defense, but has a good balance of both...honestly precisely what you want out of a #3/4 D-man. He's not as easily replaceable as I think many thought he was early on.
