It was gonna take a game with some awful calls like this to finally stop the boys with the way they’ve been playing, and the rags get to be the lucky beneficiaries
What are you talking about? At 51% of the vote, there was a distinct lack of pure "what" for this game. The result was as expected.
You can't take what for granted in this league.
Agreed on both points. I’m not all that mad about the call because it is technically a penalty. Just bad luck in the sense that he didn’t have a chance to notice it was broken before he made a play for the puck.I’m with Anton Dubi … looked like as soon as he realized it, he dropped it.
*However* if you make a play with a broken stick I assume it’s penalty.
We had plenty of chances on the PP to put this one away and we tripped on our own dick. Make no mistake, our terrible PP is the difference tonight.I tell you Boston Tampa and New York always seem to get the most favorable interpretation of calls against us..
Rods too loyal. This pp ain’t getting fixed by virtue of addition by subtraction. We are the best team in hockey 5v5 but I’ll chalk this one up to a rusty goalie, questionable whistles, and a (consistent) blatantly ineffective pp.
You can't be mad at the call by the letter of the law you can however be annoyed because you know dang well if the situation had been reversed that doesn't get called on NY....Agreed on both points. Oh well, shit happens. This is still a very good team. Not without its flaws, but still very good.
You can’t have this reaction every time the PP fails. They scored 3 PP goals 2 games ago. They scored 1 to tie the game last game. They’ve been operating at about 25% on the PP since thanksgiving. That’s above league average by a fair amount. Noesen was missing tonight so it got all f***ed up because they had Jarvis’s tiny ass in front.Seriously at what point is enough enough about the PP. We are f***ing awful and it is going to kill us in the playoffs. We have a great PK, we are excellent 5v5, but we are so goddamn bad with the man advantage that it legitimately is a major concern despite our record and our place in the standings.
When the f*** is someone going to start putting heat on this coaching staff for this failure.
I think they’re just hoping Patches will magically fix everything on the PP, which of course isn’t a strategy. We had plenty of chances on the PP to put this one away and we tripped on our own dick. Make no mistake, our terrible PP is the difference tonight.
What are you talking about?
And that stupid song they sing after goals.MSG is a house of horrors for us
Putting Jarvis in that position is a coaching issue... I agree losing Noesen Hurt..You can’t have this reaction every time the PP fails. They scored 3 PP goals 2 games ago. Caps and Sabres heading to OT. Ovy and Thompson (the two greatest goal scorers in NHL history) both on hat trick watch.
They don’t really have anyone to put there. That’s how a career AHLer wound up there in the first place.Putting Jarvis in that position is a coaching issue... I agree losing Noesen Hurt..
