You are right: "nothing to learn". But it doesn't make him bigger and stronger. There is a huge step between College and pro hockey, even if it is AHL.
I don’t think he’ll spend much time, if any, in the AHL, but the Habs might dress 7 D frequently to let him start as a PP specialist initially.

It's not about learning, we already know he has extraordinary IQ, it's about getting faster and stronger. It's about physical maturity, especially for a very small D. Again, he will be the smallest D to play a game in the NHL this year. Sean Farrell should be a red flag for all Lane's fans, and Farrell is a wigner. A lot of similarities with Hutson, high IQ, great vision, but small ans not very fast. Now Farrell is no longer seen as a legit prospect for the NHL.

There’s nothing more for him to learn at BU. He’ll be in the AHL next year.

He’ll probably come in around 170-ish pounds. Yeah it’s light but it’s far better than when he was drafted. I think he’ll be okay.

No needs to play him vs Ottawa who are always gooning it up against Habs. With no Xhekaj around, they could take liberties with the kid. Detroit is more suitable. And he is from not that far from there. All his family should be at the arena.
That being said, Montreal is not exactly trying to win against Ottawa...

It’s not that you are wrong, it’s just missing that pragmatic view of the whole thing; NCAA players hold all the cards.

So in HIS case, that pragmatism dictates that you secure the contract, burn the year and THEN you use your own farm system to work on what you pointed on.

Pretty exciting times for sure! I wonder if the 2 games against a desperate Detroit team will be enough to get a projection about how well his game will translate to the NHL.

Looking forward to hear about a Tuch announcement too. Tuch and Florian could make for 2/3 of a pretty fun 4th line in the coming years
