I expect a performance like Ferrell last year. He'll survive, show some flashes, but also how far he really is.

And if not then I'll be happily surprised.
This is Lane Hutson. This isn't no Sean Farrell WTK hyped-bs havin midget. He's a literal ninja. He's hockey incarnate. He's gonna score on the PP and he's gonna score a big goal in OT.

I agree with the notion that the team won’t necessarily want to keep him if he tops out as a PP specialist. He will need to consistently tilt the ice in our favour, which I think he is fully capable of doing with proper development.

Not the same kind of offensive dman. Hutson is more creative and better hands!
Subban had some size to him and knew how to use it. He was a pull you out of your seat type player with his rushing.

Lane has crazy hands for sure and is almost a rover in the way he plays. I think he’ll probably modify that in the NHL but sometimes he looks like a forward out there.

My scouting notes show me the 360° Denis Savard spinorama he tried in the final four would end up in a separated hip.
Other than empty platitudes of a successful amateur career, I have yet to hear an honest assessment about how an "average" speed 5'9 160lb Defenseman can survive let alone contribute in the NHL.

Don't get me wrong, i think the kid has IQ through the roof, and hes dealt with his size issue all his life, but how can that protect him?

The issue is we already have too many small players on our team. I feel his only hope is to join a team that can spot him in on limited pp duties, insulated with big men. Right now, and the near future, that is not the Habs.
By being more aware of his surroundings. When Slaf came there was commentary 9f not being because he had always been the biggest on the ice so he did not develop it before.

He did get a signing bonus of $95k but I still can't seeing him spending it all on a vehicle
He can walk into ANY dealership with his new contract in hand and buy what he wants and all the dealership has to do is call any bank for that loan

He'll be sheltered, will probably play with Savard and will play his game.I don't really care what he does in these last 2 games.

I just want him to see what the NHL is like and take that knowledge and with the help of the development team determine what he needs to do this off season to get him as ready as possible for training camp next season!

I do feel though that he would be better off playing in Montreal with actual talent around him rather than Laval and that coach.

With nothing on the line, I hope we don’t see a “just play it safe” game from him

These games are non-indicative of what player he'll be. Poehling got a hattrick in his first game for example.

Detroit is going to be all out which is good and will be a good test. But we'll see how it goes.
