Game was already over before the Lorentz goal. That made it 6-3. The Nylander, OEL, McMann & Robertson goals were all bad goals.

OEL from distance with no traffic ... come on. Monty was off his angles this game, was making terrible reads & not in control of his body movements. He was sliding all over the place in his crease. He lacks consistency.
Pretty obvious Montembault has a pattern...play 3 -4 good games in a row and then lay an absolute stinker every 4th/5th one

And when I say stinker, I mean let in 4 or more goals. This is why he will never be a true #1 goalie

Lane Hutson -5.

Watch the main boards for this one.

Sad thing is he had worked his way down to -4 from like -13, so this game pushed him back quite a bit again.

It was obvious Leafs had heavily planned for him. They pressured him hard over anyone else on the ice & gave him no room to operate. The result was turnovers. He needs to learn in those situations that forcing things is never the right move.

No dispute. He was off his game and we were outgoaltended.

Where I take issue is when the team gives up a goal and everyone jumps on the goalie. That's annoying. By all means, blame him for the weak goals. But not everything is a weak goal. When you have a guy on your doorstep all alone... that's on the D. And when I read people ripping the goalie on something like that, it pisses me off.

Can MSL learn to use a timeout?
You can see the guys start to panic at 3-3. This team has learned not to fold when down a goal or two, but they haven’t learned the opposite... when they're up and get the heat. They all started making bad plays and decisions. A timeout would've been needed.

Didn't help that Monty let in a bunch of softies. On that Nylander breakaway, he looked like a goalie sliding out on purpose at an all-stars shootout contest. That was comical.

Yeah, they were targetting him heavy. It's good tho, its sink or swim brudda.

I want the Leafs in the first round if we make it also. Would be a real test and just an insane series.

I don't even want them to make them to make the playoffs this year. That was it right there. This team is not ready. We need Ivan, reinbacher and something else.

We have most of the pieces. But we're not ready yet
I've always thought the hard must win games in March and April will eat this roster up.
I'm just happy we've put together some decent hockey and can pin point some very sore spots.

Again though, we should've stomped the Leafs tonight. We really took it to them and Woll saved the day. All credit to Toronto for coming back, I don't mean to take anything away from them. But Woll was spectacular.

If Dvorak scores that goal, Woll gets pulled and it's a laugher. But instead it goes the other way for a goal against. Pretty much the story of the night.

Also (to your point) I was really impressed with TO's penalty kill. They were all over us. No time or space for anything. Laine got his goal but overall we couldn't get much going there at all. Suzuki lost the puck three straight times on bad zone entries trying to dish off at the blueline.
