LOL i love the guy who said Monty had an "off night." Monty was HANDED a 3-0 lead on a silver F******** platter and he shat the bed. And this ain't the first time the boy has done it. I'm telling you, he SUCKS SUCK SUCKS SUCKS SUCKS and the Habs needs to do something about it.
why does it look like a post from a second account created just to vent?
Afraid to post your rant with you real account ?
:P

You people and your f****** sample sizes. Here's an analysis based on a BIG sample - Samuel Montembeault sucks large time. The guy is horrible. Not money. Not clutch. Nowhere near what Montreal needs going forward. But meanwhile you folks are happy to say "Oh just you wait....Dobes will come back down to earth." It's like you f******* WANT Dobes to not excel, like it'll prove your little point or something. There's such a FAILURE CULTURE among Habs fans it makes me sick to my stomach. Honestly, I feel like puking my guts out sometimes reading some of the crap you people post. Failure culture is what it is.
Lol breathe

Yeah, it's pissing me off, too. Pezz is unplayable. MSL doesn't trust him. We don't need him, waive him. Who cares if he gets picked up by Chicago or San Jose?

3rd line should be Anderson with Evans & Armia. Dvorak & Gallagher need to be part of a 4th line. Bring up Tuch to give them some speed & size that they're losing in Anderson.
Agree except about Tuch... Not sure he would get any more ice time than Pez.

I think you gotta bring up Roy or Beck and play them on 3rd line with Evans/Armia until Heineman is back, or go out and add a decent vet bottom 6 player.

Id prefer the latter. A guy like Brandon Tanev would be a good target.

and since Laval played Friday and Saturday, it's now obvious we are going to have the same lineup against the Rangers. Honestly I expect a frustrating game against the Rangers. Something like a 3-0 loss. I hope I'm wrong.
[sarcasm]

Heinaman injury was unknown and Pezz no longer good enough to play on this team was a complete suprise.

Or that we are playing Laffs and Rags.

Yup

[/sarcasm]

Hughes could of pulled Beck or Davidson out of the lineup days ago. In fact the day Heinamans injury was known, which was Thursday.

I've said this a thousand times....WINS don't matter for Laval. Only who is developed for the big club.

I know I will cause a lot of itching but here is a bit of reality...Hutson was directly responsible for four of the goals. He finished with -5.

He simply can't defend against bigger guys and they take advantage of his inability to physically stop anyone.

1st goal...Hutson is at the Laff redline...WTF is he doing that deep? Breakaway for the Laffs

3rd goal...Hutson just can't skate fast enough and the Laff pulls away from him for a breakaway.

5th goal...Hutson makes ZERO effort to block Matthews shot.

6th goal...Hutson goes behind our net to get possession, fails, pass goes out and goal result.

Here is what reality looks like...

Yes, he's exciting, he's dynamic, he floats like a buttery and stings like a bee....but tonight he stunk up the joint. His defensive lapses and shortcomings were on full display. Those will be the kind of results in any playoffs. Probably worse.

MSL tells us he's the smartest coach in the entire universe...so he better figure out how to shield Hutson.
Let's be fair -- he's a rookie and the Leafs are a veteran team that is desperate to make their mark after years of failure and choking. They targeted Hutson with a specific gameplan, it seems, and MSL didn't take efforts to mitigate or protect against that. Call it a learning opportunity and an inflection point. Hutson won't be able to coast forever, if he's the real deal he'll adapt his game -- if he's not, all the better we don't find out too late, eh?

It's easier said than done but the prescription is simple: Hutson was always going to have to play a more efficient game (or "simplify his game" but I don't like that term) and MSL has long needed to add some tactical complexity to our gameplan. The playoffs are tough and we can't get through with just being well-drilled, which we are and hats off to MSL for bringing us here, but there is the in-game aspect too, and gamesmanship, and all the other stuff.

this man so tilted by one game after 8-1-1 win streak

Totally agree. I don't know if they were blinded by the recent wins with Pezz in the lineup but that's piss poor management. Pezz doesn't even have the confidence of the coach so it's really puzzling. Maybe they thought he was their good luck charm.

We really miss Heineman.

Part of being a "player-friendly" organization is not being so hasty with roster moves -- I figure their approach is: players are friends and good vibes matter especially when you're not a veteran, winning, heavy team. Until we raise our standards and expectations for results, I don't think we'll see Hughes cut players until they really have to. See how they handled Primeau. A contender wouldn't have given him so much rope. A contender probably wouldn't have given Dach so many opportunities and so much TOI either. Maybe a contender would've fired MSL after the horror-show to start the season. A 'rebuilding' team can afford to tolerate some of this.

Does SMarty even recognize that the Laffs are targeting Hutson?

There was no reason in the world to keep playing Hutson in the second, with a 3 goal lead, when X and Savard were slapping and shutting them down.

Tactical complexity...when have you seen THAT from SMarty?

I give SMarty credit for learning on the job. He has changed since he started, but he still needs years and a few playoff series where he's turned into a biatch to figure out he can't will wins or infuse IQs.

As for Hutson, he needs to adopt but there is no chance in hell that he can adopt himself out of his shortcomings. He needs to be protected when he's targeted...and a coach who can think through the use of his players abilities.

You got to bring up Beck just because you don't know if he can handle the NHL.

We don't want to be at the same place we were last year when Hughes assumed Mailloux was ready and traded Kovacevick. BIG MISTAKE. Two games is not enough to evaluate a player, yet that is all we did with Mailloux.

Bring up Beck and see if he's got the abilities to replace Dvo or Evans.

This is straight up Captain Obvious moves....

We were 8-1-1, we lose a stinker and everbodys on suicide watch.

Yeah, it was a punch in the gut, but these things happen. Monty stunk and Woll played great.

Some of you need to relax. We still in da mix.

I made chicken fajitas , came down to watch the game , out like a light. Woke up, thought damn. I see a text from a buddy " et le but, et let but and et le but". Wow I thought, then checked the score. Damn.

Sucks it was the Leafs, and at home. Otherwise , it's expected and going to happen even in the year we hoist the Cup again.

I hope its out of our system and the boys play well for Dobbie tomorrow as it's his home opener.

Funny thing is that I think we played a solid 2nd period. Had at least as many quality scoring chances as the Leafs and yet, we lost 0-2 and allowed them back into the game.

That said, you probably don't want to give up an odd man rush when up by 3 goals. It's the other team's job to make itself vulnerable to counterattacks.
