Canadiens haven't had a point per game player in 16 years

Honestly,

It's pitiful that there hasn't been a point per game guy in that long. It'd be one thing if we were talking about 100 points - that hasn't happened in almost 40 years - but 82? That's a joke.

I'm hopeful on Caufield hitting 50 goals. Currently he's at a 45 goal pace. That's a possibility. If he doesn't do it this year I think he'll get at least one in the next couple of seasons. That'd be nice to have for the first time in 35 freaking years.

100 points? We'll have to hope Demidov can get there I guess.

100 point guy would be nice .....as long as they are a contender at the same time. Other wise doesn't mean anything

Perhaps because Hutson and Demidov have combined to play 40 NHL games.

Zherdev and Filatov put up similar KHL numbers to Demidov after being drafted.

No they didn't, what are you on about ? One was barely able to produce in his D+1 and played in the NHL, the other was in the AHL.

FWIW wen the Rags made the finals in 2014, their three highest scorers had 59, 57 and 51 points.

When the Habs made the finals, their three highest scorers had 44, 42 and 41 points (prorated to 70, 62 and 60 points over a full season.)

No Habs draft pick made in this millenium has scored 82 pts in a single season and it is likely not going to change this year. (N Suzuki drafted by VGK).

In fact, no Hab draft pick from 2000 forward has scored 71 or more points in a single season. Caufield has a chance to do that this year.
