The only bad part about Hammond being here (so far) is that it seems like he was brought in to keep from throwing Gillies out there, and not to keep from playing Daws 25-30 NHL games this year.

He should have been brought in to split time with Gillies, not Daws.

Season is far over, Daws load blew a long time ago.

The goaltending has been so bad that nobody (I'm talking about Blackwood here) deserves the benefit of the doubt going forward.

Fitz needs to not do what Shero did with Schneider and hope for a ''Bounce back'' for years.

That was part of Shero's downfall and loyalty and belief in players (particularly BAD goalies) gets GM's fired.

Lately, he's been calling out the goaltending, but he went out of his way to rationalize that brutal softy.

I think there's a greater chance Hammond let that goal in because he's 34 years old (that's old) and is a career minor league journeyman on top of that.

Not because the guy flubbed it.

The guy did flub it by the way, I'm just skeptical that goal doesn't have more to do with Hammond sucking than being thrown off by the flub.
