pretty much but I dont think Gallagher is set in stone neither

I think at this point Galchenyuk and Gallagher is a combination I wouldn't break up. Gallagher's intensity pushes Galchenyuk to be more intense. I really like this line, with Danault providing intense board play and two-way acumen.

At this point I think it's fair to say the things are going to look like this, barring major surprises;

Pacioretty - Drouin - Hemsky/Lehkonen
Galchenyuk - Danault - Gallagher
Hudon - Plekanec - Hemsky/Lehkonen
Byron - Mitchell/McCarron - Shaw

Schlemko/Benn - Weber
Alzner - Petry
Schlemko/Benn - Streit

Price
Montoya

Highlighted, I think, are the battles that should take place. Otherwise I think this lineup is pretty much set in stone unless chemestry just refuses to build within some line combinations.

Unless they can find a deal for JDLR, I'd be inclined to think he'll get a roster spot over McCarron since the latter doesn't need to be exposed to waivers.

Yep.

It would be so lovely to trade that Shawful albatross contract, too.

What a waste.

JDLR wouldn't get claimed through waivers anyway. He's a mediocre offensive player with an overrated defensive game, doesn't add any particular toughness element nor is he quick enough to make up for it. Teams all are pretty healthy now and none of them could use a spot for a guy like this. As usual people here overrate our own prospects but a guy like JDLR contributes in very little for an NHL team. Considering this team isn't exactly tough to begin with, I'd give a spot to McCarron 10 times before even considering giving one to JDLR.

Which players from that Bruins contingent facing the Habs tonight, would you say have a legit shot at making the team this year? That roster is uh ... not sure how to qualify it. :help:

Two players that have an opportunity at forward RW Zach Senyshyn and LW Jesse Gabrielle feisty two way(200ft player) with offensive abilities, IMHO!!!...:nod::nod:

I've been against the trade from Day One, just as you and several others here.

The two concussions from last year and only getting cleared on the second one a few days ago, makes me wonder how long he's going to last -- maybe he'll take himself out by not being able to complete the contract for health reasons since he only knows how to play one way. I obviously wish him well but can't believe that his contract is tradeable, nor do I believe for one second that Bergevin is willing to let him go, given how much he loves the player and how he was willing to shell out to accommodate him.

Another contract negotiation to an inferior player that barely recorded a tremor on the Radumeter Seismic Contractual Scale.

I too would rather have McCarron. However, just cause some of us undervalue JDLR, doesn't mean Bergevin can't get something for him. I'm well aware of what JDLR can't do, like you I wouldn't lose any sleep over his loss. It's just a matter of asset management at this point -- how many times have we seen players that we thought were worthless, fetch something on the market? Let's see how it plays out.

Thanks for the heads up. Will try looking for them tonight.

It's called Providence with a few exceptions. :help:

The 2 goalies have a shot at the backup job as Anton Khudobin is not a sure thing.

I feel bad for anyone who paid big money for this game as it is pretty much a Laval/Providence game and a couple of the players Boston is playing tonight might wind up in ECHL Atlanta.

Below are the projected lines and defense pairings for Monday night, based on Monday's pregame skate:

Jesse Gabrielle-Riley Nash-Noel Acciari

Matt Beleskey-Ryan Spooner-Anders Bjork

Tim Schaller-Colby Cave-Zach Senyshyn

Kenny Agostino-Jack Studnicka-Chris Porter

Justin Hickman

Matt Grzelcyk-Paul Postma

Kevan Miller-Chris Breen

Jeremy Lauzon-Tommy Cross

Connor Clifton

Goalies: Malcolm Subban, Zane McIntyre

...

Yup, 'tis the time of year when fans get suckered into buying suspect "entertainment".

How do you evaluate the two players S Bah mentioned in his post, above (RW Zach Senyshyn and LW Jesse Gabrielle)?

Worst part is that one of those high pick we gave up for Shaw is turning into Alex DeBrincat
That one could turn out ugly cause he's been impressing a lot of poeple since last year.

I think both have a shot.

Bruins once again are a bubble team - I can see them being in the Top 3 and also playing golf in April. The division is so hard to pin down as only the Red Wings appear to have no hope. A healthy Tampa Bay team will be scary as Toronto could be scary.

Ottawa I suspect will fall back a little, Florida :dunno:, Buffalo with a new coach could be a sleeper.

Montreal? The key to your season are the first eight games as that is a brutal schedule. If they can earn 8 points in those games they should be around all season.

Ottawa is all dependant on karlsson. If he were fully healthy, I have the sens in. If he misses a month, that could be the difference.

Montreal knows the impact of losing a #1 dman very well when Markov seemed cursed for a few years. Ottawa can't afford to lose karlsson for long.

How do you think the Habs d core will do with who they lost and added this off season? seems a bit lateral to me like they maybe about the same, but losing Sergachev long term will obviously hurt their d core I think.

As far as this season i think that they will be pretty similar though to last season, what do you think?

You might be right about missing Sergachev but the Habs didn't give him away for nothing.

As for players they'll miss: Markov, surely, but we don't know what he had left in him at his age. Alzner, Jerabek, Schlemko, and Hemsky might be worthwhile additions (not to mention prospects such as Juulsen, Ikonen, Reway, etc. plus the familiar faces JDLR, McCarron, Scherbak, Ikonen, Hudon). Then there's the consolation of knowing that if the Habs miss making the playoffs they'd get a top 15 draft pick in 2018.

DLR would be claimed immediately. He's cheap, young, fast skater, big body. Teams would put him on their fourth line and be happy about it.

We're already here. I used to mark this day on the calendar and count the seconds until hockey came back but nowadays? Yay I guess?

Karlssson was very impressive last year specially in playoffs. He's a generational talent and yeah without him Ottawa will probably crumble like we did when price was injured. If he misses just a month they should be okay though.

You did not get the memo? Can't put kids on a 4th line must be 30-35 years old guys you signed UFA. Or maybe it's just us doing that.

WTF has this to do about the game tonite? Go to the Bergevin thread and whine There.

You're the only one who is whining. I was merely responding to someone's post, I didn't raise it originally.

Plus, the majority of my posts in this thread have been about tonight's game. So much for your intervention.

I don't need to go anywhere, I'll post wherever I please. And this will be the last time I read you. Hasta la vista. :handclap:
