Canadian Press names 2005 World Junior Hockey Team, Team of the Year

Canada went 4-0 through the round robin, outscoring opponents 32-5. And went on to beat the Russians, boasting a line up with Ovechkin and Malkin, 6-1 for the gold in 2005.

This really made me feel good about Canadian hockey because it was, for once, the world's best U20 players, because of the NHL lockout, and we were that damn good when it was best on best.

Deservedly so. I counted myself lucky to see all the Team Canada games in person, (in my team's home rink to boot) and each was a memorable occasion. Hockey at its finest.
