If the goalie is theoretically out of the crease, and vacates the area, and a guy gets the puck in the crease and proceeds to score, is he interfering with the goalie as he returns?

I mean he was in that area of the crease first.

Terrible call but apparently this ref made an even more egregious goalie interference call in the Zurich Derby this season. I wonder if team Canada had scouted the refs and thus challenged

International refs are goofy at these tournaments, I'm sure Canada felt pretty confident when they saw minimal contact had been made. No North American ref is calling that interference.
